So i came to you guys to help me out I'm looking into a 1/8 scale buggy need some input between the Ofna Nexx8 or the Hot Bodies Ve8 anybody own one of these any likes and dislikes between the two would be great thanks?

VE8 is a nice platform. I run a D8 Hara right now...and they share a lot of parts. Lots of locals run them in the eBuggy class and love em. They look odd with the body shape, but seem to perform really well. Parts are cheap as well....

I have no input on the OFNA though...never seen one.

maybe some different rides...

till just recently I haven't race in over 2 years ,so I am just is overwhelmed as you .but I know the manufacturer's pretty well and I've been doing my research . I have been running a Jammin car for nearly 7 years now ,I'm just loyal to jay and dedicated. but since my car is now obsolete its time to look into something else . if you like Ofna, and I do for it durability please go on their website and check out the hyper star . the only mystery to me about that car is the pillow ball front end ,but that is the signature of the mugen seiki cars. that companies new buggy is another 1 to check out. then there is the new JQ buggy. there is a recent article in xtreme rc cars about it . a few of the really good drivers in my town have it and love it, and they are smoking fools with it. well there you go now you are as overwhelmed as I am. oh and if money is no option , the new Kyosho is just incredible . good luck

I got a Ve8 roller coming.....going to put a Tacon 2150kv motor in it with a 80amp xerun esc going to be running 3s and 4s 40c lipos i hope the esc can can handle it might go with something around 120-150amp not sure yet

Get the earthquake 3.5. I've won 19 races with my secrets on this truck and I've had more people shocked over loosing to a 250 dollar truck. Look, there are a few things you will have to do and ill be glad to share with you those remedies. Most of the guys I've raced had over 1500 dollars in there setup, I had less than 320 bucks and I wooped em. I've ran over 300 tanks on mine and it still runs perfect. I would not spend all that $$$ cause you can invest in the earthquake 3.5 and take home the trophy!!!!!

I don't even know what the VE8 or the earthquake 3.5 are or who makes them and I'm so overwhelmed with all the buggies right now .

If you dont buy a losi 2.0 your just wasting your money. Best buggy on the market hands down. Highy recomend you get one.

Hogwash. Losi is not the be-all, end-all of buggies on the market. That may be YOUR opinion...but calling all other brands a waste of money? C'Mon now :D:D:D:D

I have noticed a lot of new cars are based on the losi platform , u ibut has made changes all over to make them a little better . none of that style of car looks very durable to me at all compared to what I'm still driving ... the jammin has always been a sherman tank .

Where I am, Losi, Mugen, and Team Associated are the big 3....but I run a Hot Bodies which is gaining traction locally as well. Losi has a good setup, and that's bound to be copied...I just don't like them because the kit always feels "loose" and I hate loose cars. It would drive me insane knowing that all the slop in the care was supposed to be there, but the Losi's are fast....very fast if you are a good driver.

Lol what's the price difference between the "losi 2.0" and the earthquake 3.5? EXACTLY!!!!!! Plus you get everything you need except fuel and batteries to run it for 250. I've beat more losi, hpi, and team association setups than you would ever believe! They are no better or worse than the earthquake 3.5. Get the earthquake 3.5 and ill give you a few remedies to whoop those high dollar cars!!!!!! I've won 19 races with my earthquake 3.5 and it still runs perfect. However with out these secret remedies you'll wish you'd never bought it! Good luck and get an earthquake 3.5

I think some good point were made above on some choices. But the one thing that is a common answer is, What does your local shop sell and have parts for. You will break parts at one point or another, and i like knowing i can hop in my truck and go pick up the parts i need. Good luck on your choice.

Local shop doesn't stock really any buggy parts so Internet is my main source for parts

I believe finding a buggy parts will always be difficult for anybody at any hobby store .that 1 post was really an advocate for the earthquake ,but it is made by a cheaper manufacturer ,and all of the extra stuff that comes with it you could buy separately and to get better quality from all of them . I don't mean to be argumentative at all ,I'm just 1 of those folks who is of the school of thought that you get what you pay for ,and the more expensive bigger manufacturers produce a better product right out of the box ,knowing that you get what you pay for in this world is really simple . but if you do end up with an ofna car please tell me how durable it is since I think about getting into 1 .thanks and good luck . actually hold on the bigger manufacturers are real expensive ,go to the ofna website and read not only about the new cars , but their race results as well . I believe they are a middle of the road quality car ,actually a bit better than middle and I haven't driven them extensively like I have the older ones but they look awesome and durable . and the pricing is right in the middle ,allowing you to not break the bank on your car ,and not end up with cheap extra stuff .parts availability from ofna is excellent ,and the stock of parts at the big online stores is excellent as well .for all the advice you have asked ,please check out their website before you make a decision

I went with the Ve8 just waiting to save some more cash to pick up my ESC and some
4s lipos. I went with a Tacon 2150kv for my motor ESC is still undecided

I just got into a D8, my first nitro buggy. So far this car is amazing. No complaints handling is amazing and with the right engine very fast.
