I just got into nitro RC cars. I hve a HPI RS4 3 ss. I seem to be breaking a plastic rim every time I go to a parking lot to bash this thing. I'm using super glue to mount my tires on the wheels.
Is there any way to get the tires off without damaging them so I can put them on new wheels. It sure would save me a lot of money if I can just replace the wheels and not the perfectly good tires too.

Thanks,
Mike

Not very easily. Sometimes you can get lucky, and cut them off with a razor blade, but I'm talking 1/8 scale buggy tires there. Look at it this way. If it works WaHooooo!, if it doesn't you had to replace them anyway. I would definately buy a differant rim, as some rims a poor design, and pron to brake. You may also want to look into foam tires. Thay are premounted, and have alot better traction.

Boil them for about 20 minutes a piece, then push on the bead to break the glue loose with something that has a flat end. I use a 1/2" piece of pvc pipe to push on it.

The acetone will work, takes like 4 days but eventually it does work. And the acetone wont hurt the wheels or tires. Best way I have found is to preheat your oven to 400 degrees, turn it OFF place the wheels and tires in on a cookie sheet and let them set till all is cool, the CA crystalizes and becomes very brittle the tires pop right off.
