Geez the next thing is gonna be someones lunch bag is going to be considered a bomb....
It already is, way before 9/11 it was. I've seen it happen a few times, once in 99 or so is the one I remember.
I do think it would've been a brighter idea to let the city know, but hey, when sony put up their psp "graffiti" posters on bus stop stations that looked like just plain graffiti, did they let the city know? No. No one tells the city that they are putting new banners up...
I think it's a bit sad that you can't employ new technology to advertise for you without inciting a bomb scare.. Yes, I do fully understand that they could've been anything though.
All they would've had to do was read around on the internet. There's some mighty fine things on those internets... Sure when it comes to issues like that you have to make a quick decision, but someone should've known what those were and pointed out that they were harmless immediately... I know I first heard about those things about a week ago... Now I didn't actually see them because let's see, the population of all of Alaska is like less than that of Rhode Island...we didn't get those light things...
But what's worse is, these things were sitting in boston for what, like 5 days before they got noticed? If they were bombs that's just sad...
I do agree that the people involved should get in trouble, but no one should really do time... The intention was not even REMOTELY to incite fear and create a scare. You say you could hit and kill someone in your car unintentionally, and do time for it. But that's because you know that risk is involved. I doubt any one of you would've thought it a possibility for those signs to create such a panic...
For instance, the incident with the lunch bag I recalled, someone just accidentally left it hallway, and they just got a slap on the wrist...but that was pre-9/11..
P.S. bomb squad bots are fun

We have one at one of the schools here, 6-wheel drive, 24v batts, but 12v esc's and controllers, lol. It can climb up anything...
