Can I charge my NiMH rx pack with a NICD wall charger ?

I can't find a real answer pertaining to this question . I realize that I may not beable to reach a peak charge because of the wall charger . But I just need it near fully charged . ie: Could I just say that , if the charger I have is a 800mah charger and the pack is a 1100mah's . Wouldn't I just charge it for about 1.25hrs or so ?? tHanks

It will get a charge but it will not be a full charge, and watch the temp on the battery and charger. It's not good for the battery.

You might be able to get away with it once or twice, but IMO, your asking for trouble. Probably not going to explode like a LiPO but I wouldn't take chances. Besides your more than likely going to ruin the battery.

I charged it for about 40mins . and it got really hot . I then hooked it up to my buggy and it has a charge but who know how much of one . Does radioshack sell a dual nicd/nimh wall charger ?
And since i got the battery fairly hot is it ruined for good ?

Would you still be ruining the battery if you dont let it get hot? I've been useing to Nimh flat packs on a nicd

Just get a peak charger. It will be bette in the long run.

I got a hot bodies NiCd/NiMh peak charger at my LHS for like $40. See if your LHS carries anything like that. You can select 1 or 2 amp charge rate if plugged into AC. You only need to charge it on the 1 amp setting.

When it comes to batteries you shouldn't mess around.
I can recall a mod here a while back who was trying to do the same thing your trying to do. He burnt a hole through his table while he was sleeping. Hes lucky the table didn't catch on fire, all it did was burn a hole right through it and drip battery acid on the floor.

If this doesn't scare the crap out of you, check for mental retardation.

Piranha DC Peak does NiCD and NiMH and is like $8 at eBay.

Radio Shack has a dual bay NiCD and NiMH for about $20 but it takes forever to charge.
