Okay, I have been holding this back. It has been about a month now sense I last ran my Acme Condor (from hell) buggy. I think most of you seen my posts about it over heating. Well the last time I ran it, the engine started reving but no wheels were spinning. So now it has been parked on the shelf for a while. Last night I opened the shell and started spinning the fly wheel. It spins the tranny and looking at the front and rear drives that go to the diffs spin as well.
But the wheels in the front and rear, do not spin. When I spin one wheel the other should spin opposite. Neither front or back do this.
So back to main question, are and can, the front and rear diffs shot?

It won't happen often, but it's certainly possible. If they were worn or poor quality, blowing one would put an adverse load on the other and it could go in a matter of seconds.

I did it to my Revo, it was my fault, trying to do something it's not made to do. I stripped one of the output gears in the front and rear diffs.

How can you go wrong with an Acme product? That's the Roadrunner's company of choice for EVERYTHING! Anvils, explosives, paints...you name it, he got hurt by it.

LMAO!!! yeah, I was thinking the same thing when I was shooting to buy it on ebay.
Hey, it was new in box! lol

The RedCat SV I have seems to do pretty well. It's not too bad, I should have added some thread lock to the drive shafts to diffs on it though. they flew loose from a lot of heavy driving.

Err... ummm.. Ya mon?

oh well.... The Acme Condor was a struggle but I guess I managed to screw it up enough to shelf it for a while. They do have an up gradded body with 2 speed tranny on it for $60. Could just canablize the wheels, engine (if it's not screwed already) and the servo's, but that will have to wait for down the road I guess.

Actually it was Wile E. Coyote's choice company. Everything failed to work and the Roadrunner escaped unharmed everytime! :D

It could also be the center diff, if it has one. If you shoot the gears in the center diff, that would cause it to sit and spin. Another thing is possibly the axle pins have sheered.

You might also check the diff drivecup setscrews.

BTW you prolly already know this but you can spin one wheel and have the other not spin if the driveshaft (diff pinion gear)is spinning.
yep and the other don't spin. :\

Never run without dreadlocks.
Typo...I meant thread lock.

Of course!! I got my critters mixed. Well, there's the answer to the Acme question.
