The Mrs. bought me this pipe a while back (like over a year ago) as a closeout item at the lhs. She thought she was doing me a favor, but it is not for a HPI RS4 (what I have) since this exhaust is for the left side of the car and the RS4 is on the right with a bolt on side-exhaust header.:\

So, I've got this pipe with header and have no idea what it is for, what it is worth (going to sell it) and so on.

It's brand new and never been on a car. It must have been a display model because it came in bubble wrap with no paperwork and it has superficial scuffs from handling, etc. No engine spring or gasket either, just the gasket and three springs between the pipe and header.

Thanks for looking. Once I know what it fits and its value I'll post it up in the classifieds.

Got a measurement on the header ID where it fits to the engine?

Looks like it might work well on a jato. Left side, forward mount, rear exhaust, small block. I'm sure it would work on many others with a bit of work.

15mm for the main opening of the mouth, where it would touch the gasket, and the inner ID of the header pipe proper is 11 or 12mm (need calipers and they're at work)...

Thanks...

It's for a small block engine then. I just measured a few of my BB headers and they are closer to 19mm on the mouth of the header where the gasket would go.

Thanks Olds...

I kind of figured it was for a small-block due to the stinger size (comparing to the stuff I have here)...

All my HPI stuff has the engine in a north/south orientation so it doesn't use a header like that. Hell, I can't even use the pipe due to the pressure nipple being in the wrong location for a right side exhaust.

EDIT: Looked at a few Google images at lunch today and the Jato uses a bolt on header. Not sure if a spring mount would work in its place or not. I guess I'll have to post it on eBay and see if someone figures it out. I wonder if Orion would be able to tell by the photos? Have to see if I can find a tech support email or something for them and give it a try.

I run a spring mounted associated one on my jato. Proffer it over the bolted on one as the bolted one is too solid of a connection and traxxas stupid bolt on headers crack if you look at them wrong.

I had to tweak it a bit to get it to fit, but nothing too tough.

It would work on many onroad vehicles and some offroad. Just post it as a rear exhaust 1/10 pipe/header on ebay. Those who know will know what it is and those who don't can reference the photo. I have no idea what you paid for it, but new, it was probably around $50-$70 for the header/pipe combo. $40-$50 for the pipe alone:
