I bash the poop out of my t-maxx and always break my bulkheads. has any one put in the aluminum bulkheads? and are they worth the cash? I'm just worried that the aluminum will get bent.

Thanks ~Ben

Agreed. Make sure you get a quality part as mentioned above. Make sure integy doesn't suck you in with their cool looks :) haha.

aluminum bulkheads are an essential part on the tmaxx. They take a lot more of a beating. However, I have bent a set. As long as you dont hit a concrete curb at full force, they are awesome.

Well worth the cash there, you'll also need some quality hinge pins like lunsford. Your stock pins won't work on the bottom arms. These 2 things are some of the best upgrades for the maxx.

Btw, I have Integy bulks on mine, I didn't know about Integy when I bought them. No trouble yet, but this truck hasn't been put to the test yet either:hehe: I'm anticipating a failure at some point.

Sorry about the Integy ;) haha. Yeah you'll need good pins, lunsford is the way to go.

Alloy bulks and RCS spring steel skids. Great combo for a basher. You may also want to get alloy chassis rails to bolt the steel skids too. Creates a very solid "core" for the truck.

When I had mine, I put grommets behind the steel skid. I could hit a brick wall at a decent speed without injury.

GH makes great parts. They run frequent discounts on things:

FLM does have you covered though if you like silver, they have the bulks and the pins. Their bulks have set screws to hold the pins in place in case you loose a e-clip, which is a very handy thing:

well, I put on some nice new aluminum bulk heads but I broke off the head of a screw! any ideas on how to remove the screw that is stuck in the bulkhead?

Well... at the cost of a slightly damaged bulkhead, you can usually use a thin dremel disk to cut a slot into the top of the bolt then carefully remove it with a fine tipped (decent quality) blade screwdriver.

Cutting the slot usually causes a bit of a slot to be cut in the part itself, but as long as you don't go too deep, it shouldn't cause any real issues.

Also may be a good idea that after you cut the slot, heat the area up a bit with a small torch if the bolt was stuck.

Good, but more expensive than others.

Do you want to spend $30 an end or $60?

GH makes some good looking stuff and there are many others out there that make good bulks for closer to $30 a set.

I'm assuming your talking about traxxas alloy bulks:

what do you guys think of traxxas bulkheads?

I have been using them for about a gallon and no complaints, I got them at LHS they had Integy as well, but after seeing how everyone talks badly of them and the look, I spent the extra to get the traxxas bulks. I have hit a cement curb straight on goining about 25mph and my tmaxx jumped 4 feet almost straight up and the only damage was a chunk of skid plate broke off. When I compared the traxxas vs the integy you chould see the differance in finish (quality). So IMHO I give 2 thumbs up, thats my 2 cents Shawn
