Ok so I'm pushing to get this hpi Baja witch looks like a lot of fun but as any other rc u ar gonna end up upgrading almost everything usually carbon this light weight that strong thus bigger engine etc so I havent had a lot of experience with building a car this big butt I have token apart my hpi rs4 so I have the courage to try and build one of these bad boys please let me know is it worth the adventure to build it from scratch or am I.chewing more than I.can.swallow (no h.o.m.o ) lol thanks

Cool and in ur experience is it more cost effective meaning cheaper to build it or at the end is it the same 1200 bucks

If you already have your own radio equipment, then it more cost effective to go with the kit.

Plus, 99% of all RTR Baja's have little to no fluid in the diff which means you will have to take the tranny out in order to add fluid. Might as well build one from the ground up son you know your rig inside and out.

It's the.hpi Baja 5b ss I'm interested on not the other.one where can I buy this kit and with ur.knowledge around how much they go.for

I was in the same boat when I bought my 5sc. Either way when you add the extra stuff to complete the kit, It's about the same. I went for the rtr because I could not paint my body the right way until it got warmer out and I did not have to buy a failsafe because it comes with one. I did have to pull out the rear diff on mine because it was low on fluid and I learned so much by doing that. The directions are awesome and everything came apart and went back together easily. I would buy local because my lhs takes good care of me so I gave them my business. If looking online you can't go wrong with towerhobbies. Also if you do build it, you're looking at around 12 hours of build time give or take.

Well what I originally ment was to.buy.the.chassis and brackets all from.scratch and build.it my self because as we all know most ppl change them.parts anyways to.upgraded parts so.that why I was asking I have my radio and receiver 2.4 futaba so that's what I ment

Really wanna budget this down thanks

It's going for 769 is that the normal selling price for it

That seems about right since the ss is about 860 or so as a kit with the engine. You might be better off buying the ss kit with the engine and then sell the motor somewhere else and make some money off of the engine.

So I'm in Florida and I called up my NHS.store back up in ny and he told me that's what he pays.for it do I guess is a good deal and the 5 percent off is a evermore bigger discount

860 with engine and everything remote etc is not bad on towerhobbies the kit goes.for that much
