OK I have a big question every since my first ele. rc car. I never have had any luck with ESC. MY first ESC was destroyed by water(my fault) 2nd one just broke (it was for the mini-t) 3rd one was a water proof nice little cube. I destroyed that one by accident but touching the on and off wires to a hooked up battery. None of my speed control switches last, I tape them to the chassis and some how they break off this time the same thing happened but I didn't heat shrink it ..

NOW For The Question.

Is brushless worth the money... I have heard it is less maintenance I am down with that lol. But I have heard they are comparable to a 8 turn motor right? if not what is it close to. Also would I have to buy new batteries... I have a 3300mah battery pack by twisted cells (I think it is matched) They have some stickers on the back. The numbers are not the same but close(really close) then I have a 3000 mah battery pack this pack was given to me from a racer that races for losi I never seen him but my dad talks to him( me and my dad don't talk to much.. this is the reason I got the car is so we could spend more time together) These cells from the 11-7-03 is that to old for a battery pack? Those are my race packs. then I just have a few practice packs. I know that not all places race brushless motors so I would get a brushless/brushed motor.

Sorry for the book:
so lets review just so you dont misunderstand me:
IT is for a TC4 can it handle it?
How much faster is a brushless motor compared to a 8 turn motor.
Never had luck with ESC's.
Would my battery packs work?
and it 11-7-03 to old for a battery.

Thanks
Doug

I ran a Novak SS 5800 next to a Rustler (same gearing as mine)with a d6 10 turn and beat it but not by much. If you go against a high $$ 8 turn it would be very close IMO. The real difference is you would rebuild that 8t motor about every 10 runs or less. I ran my brushless for 5 months with no problems before I sold it. This will depend on the rc you run it in also, I raced that same truck against a T4 with a cheap Trinity 12t and got my ass handed to me, I was running a stampede.

The better the battery the more speed, power and run time but you can use cheap batteries with no ill effects to the brushless.

IMO if you can afford the brushless it's worth it.

I made a typo in my response, I should have said it depends on what rc you race against, some are set up better for speed. That TC4 should fly with a brushless in it. It will probably take a little practice to get used to it. If they allow it where you race I think you will like it.

Speaking from experience, in a TC 3 or 4, it's gonna fly. I like the Neo One/Sphere stuff better than the Novak GTB.
