Okay so i should be getting a really nice rc18t and whats the top or fastest brushless system out there for it thats reasonably priced. I
m looking at the 8000kv by mamba for 95 of ebay. are they any good? let me know.

Actually mate yes they are. You may need to change out the speedie at a later date but it works ok. The 8000kv CC motor goes REAL hard........ You will find that you will be happy even with just a 2s lipo...... Grab it, NO WORRIES

I thought the 6800 way fast and hard to control in my rc18t with a 2cell lipo. You will need to replace the front diff for metal or you will have to replace it the first run you drive it. I like the mambas that is all I buy and out of 4 systems one has only crashed because I got bored and drove it in the snow. I drove it all winter then it crashed in the beginning of spring and they replaced.

I have 5 brushless systems, two of the being castle and I love them. Castle just released the brand new mamba micro pro system, and that's what I would get if I were you. It's not any more expensive than the old system, but it has a lot of upgrades over the previsou version and runs a lot smoother. I think it may come with the castle link programmer, but if it doesn't, definitely buy one. They're around $20 if you buy them seperate, and it's amazing what all you can program by plugging the ESC into the computer.

i prefer my novak systems over the castle ones but only because they are sensored setups. The programming capabilities are excellent with castle but i don't tweak that much and i can deal with good old esc manual programming to get me where i need to be.

Upgrade the drivetrain before you even think brushless. My recomendation is MIP super diffs, MIP cvd's, and a full bearing kit.
