For ease of use and quick start up, I would go with the vxl. If you plan on reaching 60 mph, you may want to go with the castle system. You will have the ability to fine tune the esc to suit your needs.

i have been looking at alot of videos and it seems to me that the traxxas vxl is just as fast or faster as the sv3. and on the video text alot of people say the castle motors are getting very hot on 3s. why do they rate the esc and motors for 3s if they get that hot on 3s? then you look at the mamba max esc motor combos and they come with the same motors. why do they have an esc that is rated for 6s and you can barely run 3s with the combo? i just dont know what to do any more. now i am leaning to the vxl system just because i know that will hold up to 3s.:\:\ any more info or input?

Any motor will gear hot on any cell count lipo if it is overgeared enough. I can tell you from experience that a 3500kv 2 pole motor (VXL) is not faster than a 3800kv 4 pole motor nor can a 2 pole motor of semi equal kv rating handle as tall of gearing as a 4pole. So not only can the Castle produce more RPMs it can also handle taller gearing which equals more speed on both counts.

i just want it to be fast and be able to handle 3s battery with out getting really hot. i have a erevo that does almost 60 mph and i would like the stampede to come close to the same speed if possible.

Your Stampede isnt going to go 60MPH without serious modifications and a 1/8 scale motor/ESC combo. At least not for any length of time. You may (and Id be skeptical) be able to get a Pede to hit 60 on a 1/10 scale motor but if you did you would be over heating that motor very quickly and a stampede would be extremely unstable at those kinds of speeds. The EREVO has a 1/8 scale system in it (The Castle 2200kv and MMM. One of the fastest set ups you can buy in terms of raw RPMS) and its also heavier and has a lower center of gravity. This means its much easier to get an EREVO to hit 60 than a Pede.

The best setup without going to 1/8 scale electronics is an Castle MMP/3800kv although thats a little over the top. The sidewinder is a completely exceptable in place of an MMP.

well now i took my motor and esc out of my savage xs and put it in my stampede and it works pretty good for the stampede so i am just going to leave it in the stampede and get a new motor and esc for the savage xs. so now i need to know what i should get for the savage xs? should i go with a sv3 system, mamba max pro or is there some other system that would work very good in the savage xs? I'm open to looking at anything. please help
