I am trying to decide which combo to buy I want the combo motor-esc, I keep going back and forth between Velineon, sidewinder, and mamba I was thinking if it where the mamba then probably 5700. btw I am pairing it with a Venom 11.1 v 3s 5400. any suggestions? Do you think that the Mamba 5700 will be too much? I know the Velineon is only a 3500kv. Don't tell my Nitro Rigs I am asking this:hehe:
 
Velineon ESC with the Mamba 5700 can. That is for our "Reading the Rules" friend--that is the advice he would give you as it's the set-up he uses. Haven't seen Chip Cross in a bit--of you have a chance to meet up with him on here he is a BL God. sweetdiesel is the electric guru if you can catch up with him. PM them if you need...

You got it backwards, run the Mamba Max with VXL motor if running a 3S lipo.
 
what about the sidewinder 5700 its $60 cheaper? kind of wanted to buy motor and esc together as a package. Do you think that combo for heat reasons? thanks btw
 
i ran a 4600 with stock gearing and u have to have the castle link to program the sidewinder

get the vxl thats what i would do if i was to get another slash

What about balancing taps? how often do you balance?

already have 18,19,23,26,31 so I think I have it covered. the 19 is a robinson racing, guess I will have to play with the gearing a bit.

Not to derail... but what "rule" did our friend bend? I miss him around here. Crime has gone up 50% since he left! Rolex is running around with his pants off again! :D

Anyway... back to brushless systems. Great choice on a setup. You will have to let me know how it performs for you. I am looking at getting the Novak Havok setup, but have not made my mind up yet. LRP has a waterproof ESC that would be nice paired with a nice motor. Either way I won't get anything till after the holidays.
 
i was gonna get the vxl system, do i absolutely have to get lipos or will the 5000nimh packs power it? forkin out the price of a new rig in batteries wont go over well with the wife! "you spent @!$%^ on batteries!!!!!!!!!" :\
 
no doubt,gonna get somthing big around tax time only thing is if i go lipo i need new charger and I've only had mine for about a month now.170$vxl,100-150$ lipo,100$ charger=me in the dog house.
 
I ordered it but we have a foot of snow on the ground here then its going to melt and rain on weekend so it will probably be a couple of weeks before I can run it. thanks
