I was wondering how much a brushless set (Brushless motor, ESC, and LiPo battery) would cost. I don't need an exact answer, just a rough estimate. Thanks!

Depends on how much you want to spend really. I think theres entry level brushless set ups for around 150(ESC&Motor) or so but you can easily spend twice that.

Sidewinder by CasleCreations
$170 for 5700 combo plus 70 or more for a LiPo but you don't really need a LiPo. That can always come later.

BTW it helps to know the general application its going in. Touring car/ off road.

Actually you can get the Sidewinder/5700 combo at Stormer for 130. I did.

what scale rig is this going into?
if it's a 1/18 scale that setup might not work....can may be too big

It's a Kyosho Lazer 1/10. I went with it instead of a Mini Inferno, they didn't have it in the nitro kind. So would it be okay to run this with just a 6 cell 1800 Ma H NiCD battery?

I guess if I run it with a 6 cell, it'll suck up all the power from it quickly. I'll ask my LHS to help me find one that'll fit my Lazer.

yeah that pack may actually overheat from the current draw....you can get by some higher capacity sport packs for around 20 bucks a pack...I'd seriously recommend going LiPo as soon as you can.....

I have a Venom pack in it. That's a sport pack right? Anyways, my LHS isn't selling LiPo's right now, so I have to buy them online.

Awesome. Thanks for the link. What's the "Balancing Taps"? Is that what connects all the batteries together?

Haha okay. Man with the total of everything will cost about 200, but my brother will take care of it, he still owes me a birthday gift.

balancing taps are plugs that have each cell wired to so you can discharge/charge the battery cells at equal rates....
