okay , hoping you might help, I threw a brushless hobbyking motor and esc in wagon burner, I mean, redcat and my program card wouldn't link up to my esc but with my remote it seamed to be dialed in, steering was right on and the throttle was very responsive, when I pinned the throttle those monster tires spun like they were on an alcoholic dragster and my truck was on carpet! and I was running a taller 27 tooth pinion, needles to say I was impressed with it's performance! but it didn't last, my truck tore it up for the first 50sec. then slowed to a stop and my battery had a full charge.
SSo I'm wondering if you guys have experienced 🤔 anything like that?
I guess my question is was my truck shutting down because my esc wasn't programed? i have a new programming card, hopefully showing up Wednesday.

Right ,I was thinking that but it didn't run long enough to get hot before it shut down to a crawl. but I really don't have a clue.

Okay, forgive my ignorance, lipo cutoff? is that just a lack of communication that the esc not being programed can tell or regulate the battery status?

(what we have here is, failure to communicate) ha ha 😂

I don't have any external adjustments on my esc, hopefully when my card shows it'll fix it.

okay I understand now about the esc voltage limit, hopefully I didn't mess it up running it without a program but I still don't understand how it ran perfectly angry for 50sec.

No, I am asking what are the specs of your electronics

okay, the motor is of coarse a brushless 3650 4500kv 80amp esc battery =3s 5200mah 50c

you're probably over-reving that motor on 3s. Do you have a 2s battery to try this car on? You need a laser temp gun to see what temperature your electronics are when this happens, its a thermal protection or a voltage cutout saftey built into the esc.

no sir, hopefully tomorrow I'll have presents to unwrap, 2-2s lipos expected. oh wait I do, won't take a charge, can I run a nicd. in it?

Back to this 👆Lets say a motor has a max RPM rating of 50,000. 50-60,000 is pretty typical.
A 3s battery at full charge will have 12.6 volts.
A 4500 Kv motor sees 4500 RPM per volt now bear with me here.
12.6 x 4500 = 56,700 RPM roughly due to gearing and all that it could be less, could be more.
It doesn't take long at all to cook a motor.

Right, you are genius! I you guys are genius! I guess I was over revenge causing it to shut down, I just ran 10 minutes on the7.4 nicd .
THANKYOU SO MUCH!
