I am curious on who here runs brushless and what do you have and think about them???:spam

I have the Novak SS5800 in a Losi XXX-4 G+. I love it and I'm even running fairly abused 2400's and some abused 3000's. It's nice not having to worry about brushes, tools, etc...

One word about the brushless...Torque! It has lots of it.

Lots of torque is what I am hearing from everyone. Thanks.

What type of track are you running on?

Anyone have the single brushless motor setup in their E-Maxx?? Does it really outperform the 2 stock motors?

I do not have an EMaxx - but back in the US a guy that worked at local hobby shop had it setup with the Novak SS - it wheelied everytime without trying because of amount of torque. He used a 18t pinion. I do not know what stock pinion of the EMaxx is????:jester:

He was using 6 cell 3000 NiMH battery pack. It performs nicely. When he was running in the car park, his run times were 9 - 10 min on 1 battery.

He used it for street racing he did not go off road.:fro:

I thought it had more speed and torque than stock. I would say it performed a lot better. If you get a higher end brushless system like Hacker or Lehner you can run more cells. The Novak you can only run 6 - 7 cells on it. But even still it was a novak he used and it was better than stock IMO with just the 6 cells.

We have two tracks in the DFW area, 3 including the one that's nitro only, but the two are fairly tight and technical. One is very rough for the 1/10th cars since its a nitro and electric track. The 1/8th buggies really put a beating on the track. I've ran it a couple of times on the rough track and both times broke a front hub carrier, but that's probably due to my driving style...I normally run a 1/8th buggy and am fairly hard on any other vehicle I drive afterwards. So far, I REALLY like the XXX-4 G+.

If money was not the issue, then brushless is the way to go. Virtually maintenance free and a more efficient power consumption. There is a guy at one of our LHS that runs a dual
Novak brushless setup with 14 cells that he uses in the pulling class. He runs a 72 tooth spur with these custom 7 tooth pinions.
No one can touch his pulls. I've seen him rip through his entire drive train as a result of the torque from the brushless motors.
If you're on a tight budget then the stock Titans are hard to beat.

:nuke: I did it. I ordered 2 different brushless setups. 1 for me and 1 for my kids. The Novak seems easier to use and setup so ordered it for my kids. :burp: For myself I ordered a Lehner 5300 brushless motor and a Schulze ESC, I also ordered :shy: the Venom speed meter, I will put them in my Factory Team TC3. :nuke: I love these smilieys.

At my local race track a guy ran brushless for the first time in our local races. The guy was in the stock truck class but he was so fast that they put him in pro stock truck as the guy was doing wheelies on command all over the tight track (i.e. technical) and everyone was asking the guy about the motor. For $230 you also get an ESC which is a good deal and the best thing is the brushless is makes much more effective use of the battery.

In summation, the brushless Novak setup hauls a$$ plain and simple so much so I thinking about ordering up a pair for my B4 and T4. The guy had his motor in the stock setting and he said in the mod mode things just get crazy as he says the thing screams around the course....

I have seen one brushless setup in an AE T4 in stock mod and they guy flew in the stock truck class so they kicked him up to pro stock truck to make things fair...the guy could pull wheelies on command and fly up the straights smoking everyone even the sponsored drivers....too bad the guy sucked at driving. The run time is much longer too so you do not need to worry about dumping near the end of the race.
Looks like you didn't copy and paste...

I'm running a novak SS in my xxx-s and I love it. At my track I can beat people with 10t motors down the straight. :nuke:
