Just thought I would but in and say I got my ae 18 and love it,I saw these things race a few weeks ago with ed and rob and had to have one,i found a killer deal on the forum and it got here the other day,it has a mamba system with deans plugs and looks super clean!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a list of the questions I still need answers to

- I need a Charger for lipos, receiver and nimh but I know nothing about chargers...
What charger should I buy for lipo? I've heard a fair bit about the duratrax ICE and great planes triton but are they good chargers?

-How exactly do you go about charging lipo packs?
I heard you never charge the pack as one pack you charge each cell by its self? sounds like a pain to me.

What about That thing I keep hearing about to even out the cells? what is it?

-Is there a heat sink I can mount on the mamba 8k motor?

What lipo should i go for? I was looking at two but I'm confused at what one is the best..( I think apogee is the brand but what one?)

Once again thank you all very much for answering all my endless questions!!!!:bowtothercnt:

Oh and is this power supply any good? any cheaper better ones?http://cgi.ebay.com/Power-Plant-620...ameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

I can't really help you with Lipo stuff. I don't run them and don't know a whole lot about them.

I do know that both of the chargers you mentioned are good chargers and will do pretty much everything you need.. if you want to spend that much dough.

It's called cell balancing, basically I think it just makes sure that all of the cells in the pack are very very close in voltage. It is very bad to over discharge Lipo cells, so if one cell happens to have less voltage than the rest in the pack it will probably get discharged more than the others... not good if you run the pack too long.

Don't know about the heat sink. I think the mamba cans are smaller in diameter than 300 motors but I could be wrong. If you are getting a Factory Team RC18T then you will already have a heat sink motor mount (comes in the kit). It is not a wraparound type heat sink but it should help draw heat away quicker than not having one.

-I think I know just about every thing I need to know about lipos except for one thing this one: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=000345333&I=LXMUW1&P=K
is a Li-Manganese not lipo but it seems the mAH is higher.. does any one know if I can use this with a rc18t powered by a mamba 8000kv and the ESC that comes with the mamba?

-Soooo.. my question..
Lipo or Li-Manganese?

does any one know if this balancer work? for the Li-manganese http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=000345333&I=LXMRZ9&P=K

Now that you say something about the can size I think i do remember some one saying 180 or something like that for the mamba..
I also remember some one saying the xray heat sink would work but I couldn't find one on the site I was looking one..Gonna go search some more:)

I'm definitely going with the factory team kit but from what I've been reading on One18th.com mambas get pretty hot with out the motor mounted heat sink.

Well.. once again thank you very much for your time and info!!!
I'm off to try to answer some of my remaining questions thanks!!
