Ok, so I have installed a Mamba 25/5400Kv motor into my Mini-T with a Thunder Power 13c Continuous/20c Burst 2s LiPo. My problem is that I feel it should be faster on takeoff than it is. Top speeds are more than enough to satisfy, but getting there is the problem. I have to ease into the throttle or the slipper whines like crazy until about 15-20mph. I have the slipper as tight as I can get it and it still slips way too much.
The Mini-T already had a Losi Ball Differential and Dual Disc Slipper clutch installed when I got it. With a quicker brushed motor it slipped a little on takeoff, but was fine when rolling. Obviously when you jump to the power of brushless the drivetrain is under more stress on takeoff, and I'm not really looking to pull wheelies with the slipper installed, but at the same time I want this thing to launch fast without the excessive slip.
So, how do I tell if the slipper pads are worn out? I've removed the spur gear to check if the pads were seated and they were, but when I tighten the nut for the slipper even all the way in if I hold the wheels and give throttle it will slip too easy. If not the slipper pads, what are some other steps I can take to troubleshoot this problem? I've yet to dive into the gearbox of an r/c, but I did have this one apart before to inspect the teeth on the gearbox so I can go that deep if needed.
I'm trying to get all this out of my mind while at work so that maybe I can fix it tonight and enjoy it this weekend.
Thanks in advance for any and all who reply!
