I've always been a die-hard nitro junkie but now I'm anxious to make the big switch. I was wondering, in everybody's opinion, what is the best monster truck brushless truck today? I want something durable, bash-resistant, and of course FAST. Something compareable to a T-maxx or Savage. I've been considering Savage Flux, E-Revo, or E-maxx. Really don't want to pay the pretty price tag on the E-Revo.

Savage Flux hands down. ERevo is tough as well, but simply can't take the abuse a Savage can.

Savage flux hp can do a backflip.......at over 20 mph on 6s. You'd be crazy not to get that.[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeRysc6u_A8"]YouTube - Flux like a pro! Part 2 - MASSIVE POWER[/ame]

What about the new Flux 2350? Its quit a bit cheaper than the HP and EREVO and still crazy fast and runs best on 4S which saves on batteries.

That wouldn't be bad either. Just make sure your batteries have a high enough 'C' rating or you'll fry either truck.

I'd have to say either the Slash or Stampede 4x4, simply because they're waterproof. Being able to run in wet conditions opens up a whole new rc world.:)

I have both the Savage Flux and the 4x4 Slash...I like both of them a lot. The Savage is brutal enough on 4s...have not tried 6s yet. The Slash is great for rainy days sit on the porch in the dry and have fun. However I would only use the NiMh in the wet conditions.

If you want something fast, go with the brushless eRevo. If you want something bulletproof, go with the Savage Flux. The eRevo is also water resistant as are all of the newer Traxxas electric trucks.

Thanks for all the input. I have a t-maxx with lots of upgrades. No sense in converting huh? Probably not worth it?

What battery ratings would I need for the Savage Flux HP? I was thinking about starting out running 2-2s. Minimum discharge for HP is 25c-what should I go with to be safe? And Brands?-I was thinking Turnigy. Any reasonably priced, yet not cheaply made ones?
And charger? Would anybody recommend a charger?

Thanks in advance

The batteries you mentioned would be fine. For a charger I'm using a Venom Procharger Plus. It's a good single battery charger/balancer. You'll want a dual charger of the same caliber.

Yes. 30c is a higher discharge rate. The batteries can only discharge what the ESC can handle if the discharge rate of the battery is higher than that of the ESC.

I know I have ballooned up a few 30c 5000Mah packs with my 4x4 Slash. The Savage can be pretty rough on batteries too so I would not even think about lower than 30C. Find some 40c even better.
