Okay so I'm looking to get a Traxxas 4-tec (electric) roller from ebay and I want to put a brushless system in it. Some questions...

1. Can a stock electric 4-tec roller handle a brushless set-up?
2. What brushless set-ups would you guys recommend? (I have a Velineon system I can throw in)
3. What gearing? Because I have never had a car with drive belts before.

Thanks guys,

Don't know much about the electric, only thing i can suggest is, most of these cars are like models, except for adults, do what you want to it, anything is possible.....

Yea, the velenion system is good for it, it can handle 2s or 3s lipo easily. i'd start with stock gearing and measure your temps frequently (motor) to see how it is reacting and go from there. With the correct gear mesh, you should be fine with BL in stock form. Break a part, upgrade it.

I have one I put a 3.3 in. It held up okay with the nitro motor.. but I didnt care for the car itself. Had a lot of problems with small stones getting in to the belt drives.

^^This is by far the most annoying thing with a belt drive car. And it's pretty much why I parked the RS4 once I quit racing. It's really hard to find somewhere clean enough to run them except a purpose built cleaned track.
