I broke the rear differential gear for a second time. MMGT 3.0

It seems like this shouldn't happen so easily, are those gears really that weak? I've searched the forum and didn't find anybody else with this issue, but I haven't been around this community very long either, so it's quite possible it's been posted before. Are there any other compatible and/or sturdier planetary gears that would fit inside the the differential housing? Or even possibly another differential that would fit it?

Thanks

You may want to loosen your slipper a tad. There's a few folks around these boards that own a 3.0. Maybe they'll chime in with a more comprehensive solution. I'd check and see if Robinson Racing makes diff gears for your ride.

Anymore suggestions? I just broke a third set of differentials gears; this is a little upsetting to a nitro/rc beginner.

Metalhead Matt was right; I checked the slipper clutch, and the friction material had bonded to the metal plate. Essentially I didn't have a clutch. =/

OP, how did you go about figuring out this problem? I suspect the wheels just werent turning if the diff gears were broke, just trying to learn something new. I'm a fairly new owner of the MMGT 3.0, and want to learn anything about it.....thanks!

I noticed that I only had power going to the front set of wheels, which eliminated all issues with the motor to the transmission. The center drive line was also still functioning, and power going into the differential but not coming out. That could have meant a few things and the only way to find out for sure was to take it apart. It could have ended up being something as stupid as a drive input cup coming loose.

That was that way I went about figuring it out, and it proved to be accurate.
