congrats on graduating from the stoneage of pull starts, mvickj!!!!

also glad u figured everything out okay, its a bear, but with common sense, u can do it. i guess the gell cell would be good, i sont have one, but am perfectly happy with my stick packs!

let us know what u think after using it for a few weeks.

nothing beats a box, on those days when the mill just deosnt wanna start, u can just let the box ruin and run...... it'll start then!

beats the helll outta pulling on a cord 2000 times!

Well I got out of work a little early so I had some time to play with the NTC3 and the newly aquired starter box. I was a little bummed that I still had to use the PS. The doughnut wouldn't even move the flywheel. Now I have a stupid question. Do I have to remove the PS from the engine before I can use the starter box? I was only able to run about a tank n a half before it started to rain. Of course checking every local news website non of em had rain in the forcast. BAH! Well I was running without my top at low speeds just to get used to the car and to do some tuning and she got pretty filthy so I am going to start cleaning it. I also noticed I was dragging my break some. I am gonna check my manual in a few but in case I don't find the answer what do I need to adjust for this?

What power source are you using?

I used fuel line on my brake instead of the spring and set my end point adjustment to 8%! YES, 8%! Worked great. Do you have end point adjustments on your radio setup?

You don't need to pull the pullstart off, but if you're gonna use a starter box to start the car up from now on, then you should remove it. Make sure the engine isn't at top dead center, this will make it harder for the starter box to move the flywheel. When I first got my starter box i thought it was aligned right but it wasn't. Make absolutely sure that it's lined up right, and it should turn over just fine.

For the brake, like christian said, loose the spring and replace it with a piece of fuel tubing, I can post a picture of mine if you want.

u hit the naiol on the head with the brake, also to prevent dragging, just move ur trim towards the throttle side a lil.

ths starter box that u got, should crank over a 21 with ease. make sure it is turnig the flywheel the right way. if not, the 1 way bearing in the pull start will inhibite the engine from turning over

u can - bu since you are not racing, and arnt concerned about that 2oz of weight, i wouldnt worry about it. keep the PS on there, in case you are bashing, and your starter box batteries die.

I can tell you all from about 7 month experience with my NTC3 that the PS was a POS. It took me 10 minutes to try and start it, i just got tired of it, waited till x-mas and got a starter box for x-mas, i took the bearing out of my pull start, and the pull start string out, and there we go! DAMN it takes me about 15 seconds to start my car now, even when it is cold out side, and has not been run for weeks!!!!!! starter boxes are the way to go!!!!!!
