Iv managed to pick up a CEN CT4-S about over a week ago not had the time to test it out properly but i did give it a start and it started up fine speed was amazing on it but was stil told by the seller that it may need a tune up,also i noticed when i had it started up that when in idle there was fuel bein sprayed out of the exhaust and the air filter sponge was soaked in fuel to is this normal?

it is normal for a new engine as they are set very rich. how much use has it had? Make sure you clean the air filter after each time you've used it if its getting soaked in fuel. If it has already gone through the break in process i would start to lean it out slightly. That will reduce the amount of unburnt fuel you have. Make sure not to over lean it. Keep an eye on temps. But saying that if its running fine and your happy with its speed and what not then why change it. :)

yeah thats what i was told by a friend, that it was runing rich its had about 5-6 tanks use the air filter is always wet with the fuel and yes it has been in a break in process by the previous lad who i bought it off just can't figure out the carb on it dont kno how to adjust it to lean it out a lil bit

Usually the big brass tube sticking up above where the fuel line goes in.... has a screw on top.

Turn it in 1/8th turns at a time and run the buggy for at least a minute to see how it responds, then repeat.

Don't go too far, even if it sounds good, if the smoke starts to thin out a lot, stop.

I'd also advice getting a temperature probe and checking the temp doesn't go beyond about 220-230F (105-115C).

Look up the manual for your car and read it thoroughly. Getting familiar with your vehicle is the first step. Also do a range test before letting it rip. With the engine off and the electronics on, have somebody operate the remote while you walk to the furthest distance that the car will be traveling. If your car runs away, it will be ugly. I suggest picking up a failsafe right away. A failsafe puts the throttle to a pre set spot that you program(usually applies brakes) when signal is lost or the receiver batteries get low.

yeah i noticed it hasnt got a failsafe on it which i have picked one up off ebay just not had round to putting it in also the car is quiet dirty iv tried cleaning it in all the simple and places i can get to hopefully il be busy with it this weekend sorting the steering servo out as from pulling to one side its deciding not to turn to any side at all,the seller did give me a load of spare parts so getting hold of the steering servo if its messed up wont be so hard i guess,i was just worried about it running rich and also the smoke on idle whih iv been told is due to it running rich

Every engine has its own limit as to what temp it doesn't wanna exceed. I've had some that run the best at 260-270º. Tune for performance, not temp. But thats just my opinion.

i understand the little bit of smoke but my cars leaving trails of fuel from the exhaust where ever it runs, shoud it be doing that?
