very difficult

Wrong answer...

It's not that difficult at all. I've got everything needed if you had something in mind and wanted to use my equipment. It's very easy and I could teach you the basics (all I really do anyway) in a few minutes. I'm in NKY, I don't think I'm too far?! Either way, all you need is an airbrush kit. Harbor freight sells a kit for like $11. Then you need propellant, either an air compressor or the cans of air which in my opinion are a pain in the rear and cost a lot.

Then all you need is paint and creativity. Most bodies already come with decals and window masks, everything else is up to you. I use Parma's faskolor paints.

It would also help if you'd posted this in the body shop section, maybe the mods will move it. Wouldn't hurt to read around on that part of the site either.

Moved to Body shop.

You can even start with rattle cans, and some masking, and come up with some cool paintjobs. Or pick up an inexpensive airbrush, and an air source and start practicing on a piece of lexan from home depot.

I've seen some rattle can jobs that work good for basher lids and they didn't look too bad, nothing compared to an airbrush job but still not bad. My Revo stock lid is about thrashed and will need to be replaced, so I'm thinking about going that route.
My wife is pretty damned talented when it comes to the use of an airbrush, we've talked about getting a kit and having her try her hand at it. I'm sure my first lid will have flowers on it. :hehe:

I yahoo direction-ed Florence KY, and your about 3 hrs away! lol kinda far of a drive! lol But we do have a Harbor Freight that I think would get me started. What kind of propellant would I use? For like a Red paint?

This was the body and color I was wanting mine to look like.

That job could be done easily with just 3 cans of spray. If you don't have an airbrush it would still be cake. It's just red, silver and black. All the grillwork and window trim is actually decals. So you'd just mask off everything but the black stripe. Paint the black. Then mask off the silver and paint the red. Then unmask the silver and paint the silver and you're done. A few things to remember. When you get the body, wash the inside well before you start. Then apply the window masks. And when painting, try painting the dark colors first and work your way toward the lightest. That way the dark colors won't show through the lighter colors.

this was done with 2 cans of spray paint... red and white (obviously) and masking tape.

I did the white lines first by taping over everything that I did NOT want white. let it dry about a couple hours (overnight works best) then I painted red over everything else including the white.
The windows were done over with the stuff that came with the body and all the black and lights are just decals that came with the body.
kinda fun really. If you use spray paint just remember to keep the can 12" away when you spray, and don't over due it (little by little) so you don't get runs.
You can even practice on something else till you get the spray pattern smooth (side to side)
Hope this helps

Not sure if they have an F-150 that fits the 3.3, but they do have an F-250 Crew.

Thanks for the link Candyman! I've been trying to find an F-150 body for the Revo since I got it with no luck. At the time the only thing even close was an F-550 or 650 body, which looks nothing like an F-150. I think I'll pick up one of these and since I'm trying to make it look like my 1:1 truck, I'll just need a red and tan can of spray paint and give it a go.

You can do some really slick paint jobs with rattle cans. It's all about masking and paint layers, and a lot of nice paint jobs that you see are the result of rattle cans. Also, Lessen painted a body just like that pro-line shown above, F-250, with the same color scheme. I think theres some pics in the gallery ir in the body shop section.
