Hey I have some wooden 550mm helicopter blades that I want to paint. Has anyone ever tried this? and if so did you take the shrink wrapping off of them before painting?

Sorry to reply so late, but somehow I missed this post.

Don't do it. The shrink wrap is a major part of the strength of the wooden blade. Also, you'll create a balance problem.

There is a company called Canopy FX that makes a holographic sticker for blades. Looks kind of cool but I don't know how practical they are.
