Diver, Please dont confuse me with a ricer. I;m not sure if your just tlaking about ricers or calling me one, lol. No, I've had my share of bolt ons and programming fuel curves with DSM Link. I know about lift and duration. Those who usually dont usually dont have fast cars. They think a wing, wheels, fart cannona nd K and N filter make there cars MAD TYTE YO!, god I hate ricers.

WL, you got it wrong ... sorry if it came out the wrong way. I was comparing the kids driving these ricers around wrecklessly to the actual people making these cars for strictly drag purposes. I wasn't calling you a ricer, but you're still a spammer.

LMAO...No dis dude but I can't even think of a proper analogie for that horrible compaison. Not many things that roll off the factory showroom can compare to a McClaren F1.....but they cost A MILLION+ for a used low mileage and full factory refurbished car. McLaren is done with a Joint project with Mercedes that's in limited avaliability in Europe. I remember Jay Leno saying that he loved his Mclaren but you couldn't "feel" the speed like you can in many high end sportscars. Even if I was a Billionaire I'd have a hard time spending 1 mill on a car.

For 40K it should do better then love 12's...lol. My RX-7 does low 10's all day @ the track @ a mile high alltitude and easily does 9's in Cali @ sea level. My neighbor just bought one and took me for a ride. It's nice if you like pony cars so you can be like everyone else. What is it about late model Pony cars...puke.

EP - No chit, I can't stand most modern american muscle but ya gotta love the Classics. Now where did I put that 80k I need for a Cuda.

Nitro, just out of curiosity and bad memory, which generation RX-7 do you have?

I am not a very big fan of the F body cars either, but I do have a place in my heart for the 1st gens. I have also voiced my opinions on other vehicles and you know that I am biased anyway, you know that :shhh:... but I do give credit when due and the RX-7 deserves it's kudos. Won't buy one, but I'll give credit.

You are right though, McLearan's can't be compared to mustangs. Keep it in perspective!
:preachin:

As for that CUDA, only if it's an AAR Cuda! Sucker went on the block at Barret Jackson and sold for over 100k!

As much as I love muscle cars I'm still amazed at the power some of these four bangers can put out.My friends are real into Mistu's (DSM) and two of them have low12 high 11 second Eclipses. A stock Mitsu 4g63 will handle up to 450 hp with stock internals and valve train. The trannies on the other hand do not like that much power LOL!!! They've been through more than I can count and have changing them down to a science.I'm currently looking at a 2004 Dodge Srt-4!!! 0-60 in 5.6 sec and 22 mpg!!!! 230hp 245 lb ft of torque low 14 high 13 quarter and a sticker price of 20k!!! Hell yeah!! I can't wait until I can get this car!!!!!!

Driver - OOOOHHHHH (drooling Homer Simpson voice)...If I had a Jay Leno income you can bet the farm I'd own that Cuda your reffering to. Yeah man, Comparing McLarens to Mustangs is like Comparing Ferrari's to Electric scooters..lol.

It's a 3rd Gen 95.....I've got the Jap Spec body kit from ApexI and more chit then I'd care to talk about. No crappy stickers but it's hard to have an Rx-7 "sleeper" if ya know what I mean. I run 400HP @ the wheels for uuuuh Daily driving and 544 @ the track. I spank $120+ sports car like it's going out of style but I've had my ass served to many on a couple rare occasions(lol). Namely a 1000+hp Hotrod that wasn't street legal and a Toyota Supra pushing 900+ @ the wheels. Other various mean cars like a Ferrari on steroids owned by one of the Maloofs. I try not to street race but it's hard to resist @ times at 3pm in the moring with no one on the road and a $500 radard detector that also scrambles laser signals. The wankel powered RX-7's are truly Jap Hotrods IMO.

BTW Driver, I don't think your any more Biased then me or any other car fanatic.

I hear a lot of talking about ricers. I figured that was coming. I have no problem w/ them - I just come from a different decade. I prefer the v8 rumble as I leave the stoplight. It's even cooler in a convertible.

:thankyou: A man after my own heart. I too am not a big fan of the farting mufflers. I want a rumble that develops into a roar with a nice burble when engine breaking to a stop.

You got it Diver.

Horsepower's how hard you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

I Also prefer beautiful rumble of a mean V8 to the nasty blow back noise of the vast majority of 4bangers with exhasut. I love the scream of my rotary engine followed by 19lbs of boost. It's nice to be be running without pistons @ times...hehe.

Unlike some car guys I appreciate great cars from all over the world. Jap, Classic american and especially Euro (Volvo, BMW). I like many late AMerican trucks but can't think of many Late american "Sports" cars that float my boat. American designs seem to be going backward in many cases...look @ allot of the offerings from Ford and GM. Vets looks great but they're uncomfortable as sin for tall guys like myself.

I'm not trying to go after you or nothing but 450hp is alot on stock internals, it just wont handle it. My friend anthony's 95 GSX had to be bored .40 over, new pistons and rods just to run like 21 psi. That thing doesn't even spin in the rain! I love that car.

I agree with this for the most part from my experince and that of many Jap grease monkeys. 450 @ the crank isn't happending much less @ the wheels.

Mistu is getting better but for overall engine quality they're still not on par with Honda and Toyota. This isn't an opinion but fact. Most everything Mistubishi made before 91 was garbage but the newer stuff is allot better. They do make kick ass TV's..hehe.

. No 4cly is stonger then a Honda when it comes down to it but I wouldn't dare run more then 10lbs of boost on a stock Honda 4cyl and that's pushing it.

Wanna hear something crazy then....A Miata is a N/A version of the 323 GTX Turbo AWD. Miatas have 9:4:1 compression stock manual and the automatics have 9:0:1. Easy 11lbs on a t25 with new injectors and the miniums of forced induction. I've seen a miata push 600hp at crank and 550 or so at the wheels. Miatas are just damn funny....people are like.....how did that girl car just smoke my ass?!

Haha...Most Miatas are butt ugly IMO. I've seen some new Miata's that looked sweet though but they're rare. THeir's a guy around here that has a Miata that can take my RX-7 when I'm not running my track boost but otherwise he's dead. I've run into a couple dudes over the years with Nasty fast Miata's. THey need to make a really limited edition Miata with the new RX-8 rotary. I don't care for the looks of the RX-8 (like many RX-7 fans I was disappointed) but that engine is awesome.

I happen to know for a fact that a stock 4g63 will handle 450 with stock internals. My freinds 93 GSX has 100 some odd thousand miles on it and he runs a .60 trim T3/T4 @ 20-25 psi on a bone stock bottom end. He's also running a stock Mass air flow sensor, a BIG intercooler, 660 cc injectors and a Supra fuel pump, 3 inch turbo back exhaust and runs mid-high 11's.To top it all off it's his daily driver.

My other freind has a Talon TSI and he spent 3k to have Buscher racing build his engine and is running a similar setup and is almost dead even with the 93 GSX.His talon is capable of running alot faster because of the built engine but he keeps breaking axles and trannies. He ran a 13 once and snapped the axles before he reached the 60 foot mark LOL!!

It's really hard to say for certain that the GSX is running 450hp since there's only like one AWD dyno in the the country LOL but if you do the math it adds up to at least 400hp-450hp.

Man, I just dont see it. I've seen 91(I think) DSM run 20psi on stock bottom end and it was pushing it, I mean you could just hear and feal the engine wanting to act dumb.

If you don't get the fuel right than yes it will blow any engine real quick running that much boost.I've also seen guys as much as 20 psi on the stock TD05H with some nice results. It's all about how much fuel you can get to the engine though.Like I said 20 psi will blow up alot of engines if you don't have enough fuel.

Well, I saw one of these black beauties last Friday and all I can say is SWEET. Anybody here have one? I used to own a Mustang 5.0 back in my crazier years. That was only 225HP, and it still zipped along nicely. 390HP seems really over the top - I like it.

ford underrated them...
they really have 420HP and up at the crank and can do 12 sec 1/4 miles with a tire air pressure adjustment.
These cobras can push 500hp with just bolt ons(CAI,exhaust, pullies, ect) they are my dream car and soon you can get them cheap with the new 05 Stang coming out!

The GTO looks like a big sunfire and the SSR is just plain ulgy and they are both slower than the 03-04 Cobra
