I noticed that my carb was loose so I tightened the screw that holds it there and I guess I went too tight and the head of the screw broke off. I really don't know how to get this broken screw out without making it worse, and the real crappy part is the carb came loose again and came out. So now I can't even drive it at all and the weekend is comin! Any help????

I'm using my blackberry to use this forum so I don't think I can post a pic. Basiclly the head of the screw is right off

Yeh his carb is off with the screw still in it without the head, so he can't loosin it or tighten it...

Well basically you just need to grab the screw to loosen it out, I'm not sure i know any safe way to do that... eek, I'm sure someone else here knows.

not sure if this will help.

you might try drilling it but that be the last resort. did you say the carb came out after you broke the head off

You could buy a set of backwards drill bits (left = in) and go slow when drilling it... The bit will grab the screw and turn it out.

If the other end of the screw is showing, then you should be able to twist it out that way with some normal bits.

What engine is it? many cinch bolts have 3 parts, two cinch parts and a screw. One part of the cinch slide is threaded, the other is not. So, if the head of the screw broke off, you can take something the size of the screw and tap on the broke of part to push the opposite side of the cinch out. Then gently wiggle the carb while twisting it a bit to get the other half to let go of the carb neck. Or, just tap a bolt into the other side once the threaded side is punched out.

This is a three part:

Others I've seen use a solid cinch with a threaded end and a nut that allows you to tighten the cinch against the carb neck. With this kind, you just tap gently on the bolt end that broke off to make it unlock from the side of the carb neck, then you just take the carb out and slide the cinch out, then get a new cinch.

This is that kind:

Depending on what kind it was, the screw or nut hold constant pressure against the carb neck. With the head of the screw busted off or the bolt/nut sheared off, as the engine runs and vibrates, the bind would loosen and the carb will come loose. Think of all the screws on your RC's. They all loosen if locktite isn't holding them in. Some even come loose with locktite!
