If its not the bearing and turns out to be a bad roto start instead, dont waste money on parts for the roto start just send it back to HPI.. My rotostart crapped out after a year and they told me to send it back no questions asked and sent me a brand new complete rotostart including all the backing plate parts . So if I get another truck thats not converted yet I can convert it over to rotostart no problem. I keep the original pull start in my toolbox just in case it craps out again though..

the engine might have flooded and the fuel got on the one way bearing and it is just spining try cleaning the one way bearing and see if it works.

most of the damage caused by the rota start is because when the engine floods,people keep trying to turn it over.You should only use them for 2 or 3 seconds,stop and try again for another 2 or 3 seconds rather than keep winding it over and over.
If you try to start it flooded then it will hydrolock and break stuff.
A good way to overcome this is to loosen the glow plug a bit when you start it and just do it up again when it starts.
