So my 4x4 vxl slash has stock shocks with the exception of 80 weight shock oil (lots of jumps and punishment where I drive). My question is this. I have a bunch of aluminum big bore shocks laying around but they are a bit longer than my slash shocks. What's it going to hurt to run these shocks that have to be compressed a bit to fit. I've attached a pic of the 2 shocks side by side so you can see the difference. Stock has white spring

They will allow the arms to extend too far and put your axle joints under excess strain. They also may not compress enough, which means the shocks bottom out before the chassis does, then you end up with busted shock ends constantly.

I put aluminum shocks on mine that were bigger than stock, I haven't had any problems with them.
