that still sucks having to carry like 4 batterys if you want to run for more than a few min.
But you could also say what are they used for? Racing, drifting, bashing I'm sure there are diff situations where electric is better then situations where nitro is better.
I still don't like the fact that electric you can only run for like 45 min. LOL. I run my nitro for hours and hours at a time.![]()
I can't think of a situation where a nitro would be better than electric. An electric motor runs exactly the same way every time(I know they wear out). Nitros require tuning, which makes them run a little different. I'm sure some people have their perfect running nitro that only needs a small adjustment for the weather, but an electric will always be smoother running. Leading to more control. Chalk another one up for electric.

and we can crawl!!!![]()

just wonderin where do u get that much nitro from for that price??? please tell me !
Anyway, back to the point of R/C crawling, i have good throttle control and much like anyone else, with practice, i dare say i could crawl damn well with a nitro rig. So i doubt it would or could ever be an exclusivly electric powered area of ther hobby.
Somehow, i do not see 1:1 scale crawlers being purely "Battery" powered, but i AM CERTAIN most, if not all of them, run on petrol or diesel engines.
If I`m going to drive around a "little car", I want just that..smoke and noise...not some glorified power tool.Personally, I don`t care if electric is faster. I enjoy the ability/need to work on the engine, and the fact that it takes a certain amount of learning and skill. I had electric cars when I was young, and they always reminded me more of a power drill on wheels. If I`m going to drive around a "little car", I want just that..smoke and noise...not some glorified power tool.

ROFLMFAO !! NICE ONE !!!Spring rates can be changed on nitro clutches which also changes the point of engagement. There is also a thing called "Drag" brake, which engages the brake when the throttle is lett of. I run my buggy that way. There is also the ability to use a third radio channel for a seperate brake servo, thus enabling throttle input to be balanced at a point of engagement to a point of easy re-engagement. (will be trying this soon).
Anyway, this is totally :OT: and i am aware of that so i'm going to shut up about it.
I Still say with the right set up, Nitro CAN match Electric powered rigs. HOWEVER, each has it's specific advantages in specific circumstances. The way i see Nitro Vs Electric is that both are equal depending, of course, on set-up.
Yo alpine, i'm not coming to the states from the uk just to "Race". too damned expensive !!
while I'm new to nitro, i can say i have always been fasanated by the sound, but with electric, i can grab some packs and plug them in and enjoy, so far after a week of owning this revo 3.3 the only thing I've enjoyed was putting it up, its been frustrating me every time i try to tune it, and the two lhs dont want nothing to do with it unless i pay them big bucks to tune because i didnt buy it from them...
