I have a losi xxt and I'm in need of some new tires. WHat would be the best tires for strickly loose/loamy dirt running? Is there anything out there like maxx mulchers just for 2.2 rims? PLeax dont recommend mashers, they aren't wut I'm looking for.

To add on to wut kinda of dirt it is, it is dirt that has been sitting around since the beginning in a forest, we just raked it out and now we have some pretty nice trails going. So its like that moist, kinda clay like in some areas, very loose, dug up dirt. Thanks a lot.

Yea i was lookin at those but i dunno, they looks kinda cheap to me. Anyone have any first hand experience with them? And how about the gladiators, i think those have an aggresive tread. Thanks

WOW.. those are big pins.. you will not like those.. truck will be so off balance.. and bumpy.. if you want a good tire for loose loamy dirt.. i would reccommend the Step pins.. silver compound.. those are prolly the best overall tire you can get.. then if you are running a pretty hard packed track.. run something like ifmar pins

He said it was "very loose, dug up dirt", that's why I suggested the big pins. If the dirt is that loose and dug up I wouldn't think he'd want smaller pins, but instead want something that will dig in more. The truck will be bouncy no matter what on that kind of terrain, at least do it with some traction!

dirt hawgs or gladiaters are the best imo. dirt hawgs for all around, gladiators for loose, loamy dirt like what you said you're running in.

Thanks for the reply's guys. I think the ones gilbequick posted might have too big of pins and the ones dgrobe posted might have too small of pins. I think the glads will be just right. I had the dirt hawgs for my nrustler a while back and they wore down real quick and didnt give good traction in the grass so i thinik ill stay away from those. Thanks again!

I Would not get step pins silver until you have tried other compounds. Try square fuzzies or even the evil twin in R3 compound from Pro-line they hook up real well. You may also want to check out the Red Cross pins from Losi as I hear they are good as well...I was thinking about picking up a pair and seeing how they work on my buggy and then possibly getting more of them to put on my GT and T4.

The pins are not that big enough to throw a truck off balance or make it bumpy, they just look like it. I used to race with those on the back of my ST on a loose dirt track. They do very well when you need traction. They are also good for throwing dirt at spectators on turns.

How do the treads you guys recomended wear? I went back to the track today and its conditions are real unpredictable. Some parts of the track are hard and others loose. The evil twins look nice, but I'm worried about them wearing too fast and i think their pins mite be a wee bit small. Has n e one ever used the lugnuts or speed paws?

So far my evil twins have very little wear on them compared to square fuzzies which wore really fast. I switch tires from time to time if the track changes a lot during the course of the day which can happen quickly depending on tempature. Hopefully if you are racing everyone will get caught without having traction so you can switch tires and be fine in the next qualifier....remember squeeze the throttle and stay in the middle of the track....roll the corners don't try to hammer through them.

ONly about 4 ppl go to our track cuz its homemade! The only trucks that drive on it are a savage, my tmaxx, my friends maxx, my losi xxt, and a nrustler(if its running). The rustler is using mashers but they dont seem to be working to well on the track. I think pins will work much better. Do the evil twins also run well in the grass? Thanks a ton.

Good question....I have never run my evil twins on grass. The best all around tire IMO is R3 holeshots from Pro-line. When in doubt about track conditions I start with holeshots and adjust from there. You can also go with the M3 compound which is a little harder than R3. I have run holeshots on grass and they work fine as long as you stay on the gas.

I think the most versatile tire that Pro-Line makes in the Gladiator II. They work on a variety of surfaces, and have excellent wear characteristics.

I have never used the tires you mention nor have ever heard anyone at my race track talk about them.
