I am in need of a good motor that is a pullstart. 21 or above. Let me know what and why and any opinions.

Thanks

Jon

whichever one comes with a starterbox. dont insult the mugen with a pullstart. jk.

anything from the "good" brands will do.

well I was going to get the OS VZB like you have in your XB8 but it is kinda steep right now/.

call up full throttle hobbies. thier sale for a vspec is 250 and might still be good yet. ace hobbies has the picco .26 pullstart for 180, or a 3 port collari for 219 (thats not a pullstart though). mushroom has the new STS dragon buggy motor for 190 (again no P/S) tower has both orions .26 and .28 PS for under 200.

what are you looking for, what do you want to spend?

I'm with AC48, the XTM engines are awsome with the reg 24.7 130-140 and the pro about 170ish good engines at a good price.

Jon, I just got a Fantom .27 for the kanai roller I bought of you I will let you know how it performs after I get some electronics and finish the diffs up on it.

Very Cool Man. Let me know.

As for all other posts. I just want to get her running without breaking out the starter box. I have a son to take with me and to grab too many things is a PITA! If there was a track I could just park my ride I would be up for it but I think a pull start is what I hope to get.

Hudler, are there any other mounts I can use to make a pullstart work?

I didn't try a pull start engine, I mentioned on another forum that I was going to use one in my new X5 and I got my head chewed off.....and a couple of experienced guys said the pull start engine would not fit with the mounts...maybe a washer between the chassis and the mount on each screw so the pull start will clear the chassis? Not really sure, I always thought it would work....shouldn't be too big a deal, just make sure you get a engine with lots of RPM unless you run on a small track, the speed of those 1/8 buggies is unreal!!! Have fun.

Jon, I have not been able to break the Fantom in yet as I am still working on the Kanai but I am gonna drop it in my Storm and I will get an opinion of it for you in the next few days if your still interested in knowing.
