I have got my slayer handling really well both on and offroad. Stiffer springs, thicker shock oil and good sway bars. It still runs great but once this 3.3 engine wears out I will be looking into converting it over to brushless electric. I want to find more options on parts/prices of everything needed to plan for paying for it. Thanks for any input/ideas. T

just a quick ? why is it ppl are buying nitro rigs then converting them to electric. i am not trying to start anything honest just curious

Because many of us prefer the power, speed, and no maintinance of a brushless motor instead of a nitro. And some rigs such as the slayer do not come in an electric format.

i bought my nitro rc10 gt2 and now I'm looking to sell or trade that bad boy for an electric. dont get me wrong i love the nitro but i would just rather have the no maintience and ease of use of an electric. plue no mor ebuying nitro fuel which adds up quickly in costs

Exactly what alpine said, I do like nitro and will run it as nitro until it wears out. But after that I want a 4wd faster version of my slash.

There's still a few diehard nitro fans out there, but most people nowadays just do not like fooling with nitro. Since there is no 4wd version of the electric slash, people want to convert it over to have the looks, the handling of a 4wd vehicle, but the speed and convenience of brushless. Plug and play!

i recently converted my slayer to brushless. i used the tekno kit. $100 and was very happy with the fit and finish. i would definatly recomend it.

x2
My buddy just used the same kit with his and had excellent result. In under an hour it was ready for a battery. Was an easy job and works great.

My main deal is the cost and cleanup of nitro. Plus i dont have to buy anymore glow plugs or fuel. Just charge and go. Initial cost may be more, but once i bought the batteries, I'm done. I had this question as well, because i thought about a slayer.

just buy the new slash

Yea ur right but ppl now can just buy the new traxxas slash that is brushless and 4wd plus it might come with a spectrum controller.

ha yeah. Dont get me wrong i LOVE my nitro truck (t-maxx 3.3) but i use way too much fuel and so now I'm gonna get the new 4x4 brushless slayer when its out so all i gotta do is charge and go with no mantience. but i still like nitro more for the power and sound.

ha well tak eme for example. i hate all the grease and dirtyness of nitro cars. I like the electric ones waaayy better

I'm in the process of putting a combination of Revo and Slayer running gear into a 1/6 scale Humm-Vee. I already have the electrics I'll be using and I'd sure appreciate a link to that conversion kit.
