yeah but i have a whole diff temp at the manifold,sometimes 30 degree diff
 
Temp at the plug.

Temping the manifold gives you a useless reading.
 
You temp right down the middle of the cooling head on to the plug.
 
Great. Because I was told when I first got my Losi that you take the temp next to the plug. That explains not holding temp. Now I just need to figure out why I can't hold a tune.
 
The only difference between an oral and a rectal thermometer is the taste, Rolex.

Going back to the original subject, reading the temp off of the head at the glow plug is exactly right. If you are still having inconsistent temps/problems try to seal the engine.
