my rs4 3 evo is pretty much broken in, i've got almost 12 tanks through it, but i've been through like 6 glowplugs. i can't afford to spend 5 bux every time i drive my car. is there anywhere i can buy glowplugs cheaper than my lhs(4.99ea for mc-59)??? this is getting frustrating, i love playing with this thing but not if its gonna be this much trouble

You gotta be runnig a little lean or too rich to be fouling plugs like that. Your LHS might be a little higher in price than ordering on line. Check Tower Hobbies or Stormer Racing Hobbies. There are also the site supporters like Rush RC.

The problem with buying glow plugs online is shipping charges. Sure, the plug may be a dollar cheaper, but shipping at tower is $4 for one glow plug.

I would work on tuning your engine. I have about a half a gallon of fuel ran through my Savage and I am still on the origional glow plug.

I usually buy in quantities of 6 or more when I place an order for other things so the shipping becomes a wash. If one of the above mentioned can't hook you up, check eBay, you can usually find an entire card (12) for a decent price, including shipping.

I use eBay and like jetmech said, a card of 12 is the way to go.

You also need to check your tune if you are using 1 plug for every 2 tanks.

thanks for the suggestions guys. yeah, i know my tune is off, i've been working on it but I'm new at this so its been kinda tough. my lhs has good stuff and prices, but they're just not very helpful with my questions, seems like they just wanna sell me stuff instead of helping me solve to problem and gaining a lifelong customer.

yep......ebay......i have to use the turbo plugs for my engine which cost 12-14$ a pop at the hobby shop...........i get them on ebay for half that & sometimes cheaper still in the blister card.....but before you buy from a seller on ebay, check the sellers feedback.......

I was having the same problem only worse. I was going thru one plug in LESS than a tank. My problem ended up being the wrong plugs, plus my tume was off which didn't help. If you are sure your using the correct plug, then your tune is way off. Find out your factory settings, go back to those then start from there.

I agree with EBAY. I get them there in cards of 12 or two 12 packs to save cash. LHS at 3-5 bux is not worth it anymore.
