I am wanting to rebuild my OS CVR .12 w/10ER and was wondering if anyone knows where to get the best deal on the parts needed. Piston,Cyl,Rod, Wrist Pin, etc..

Also, Who would you recommend to purchase the piston and sleeve combo already ported. The motor is powerful enuff tis true but an oval is in the works and more power might be in order for such.

Unfortunately it will cost you more to buy those parts than it will to just buy a new OS mill. Buy a new engine than you also get a back up carb, or you can sell the carb to offset the cost of the new engine.

Thats about $90 and it dont include a new carb, block, head, bearings, crank, backplate, etc. You will be much better off just replacing it for $109

That is the one thing I do not like about os. Cost more to rebuild than the whole engine cost.

I kinda like it that way. If it's time to rebuild, why do it if I can get one brand new with a warranty?

Well I was really curious about who does good port work. I picked the CVR up off ebay with drake pipe and manifold (new) the entire clutch assy. and motor mounts for under a 100 bucks. It still has plenty of power and runs terrific. I had seen the prices for a rebuild and figured since its that high why not see about a modified piston and sleeve combo. It was a great deal I thought and your right. I would buy a new one and use this for parts if theres no source for the modified parts.
