I’m looking to make a fully custom 1/10 Rc no prep car but need help figuring out the right esc and motor combo for it I just finished @Greywolf74’s threads on batteries and motors and am leaning towards a Castle 1512 6400kV and a CNHL 6200 mAh but any advice and ESC suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Maclan makes some commonly used ESC's in no-prep. The Tekin RX8 is also one that can handle the load. There are others out there, but I am not that experienced with no-prep. Our custom built drag Slash is sporting a Tekin 4.5t Eliminator, along with the RX8. We have yet to run it though. But it should send that lightweight car down the parking lot leaving vapor trails behind it I hope.

@Greywolf or @johnnydmd might be able to help you there. Johnny is a nitro guy, but maybe he knows what some of the electric guys are having good results with. With 2.5T you're going to want a battery that can deliver some reliable power. His test shows that is a decent pack, so I would guess it's going to be good. But more mAh might be more sppropriate.

Sorry man, swamped with work today, took me awhile to find the time to get on here. I don't really have any advice as I'm not that big in to no prep, I just test a lot of batteries. Those CNHL parallel packs are about the best thing you're gonna find for the money. The max amps no prep packs are technically better, but also cost a ton more. I'd certainly give those CNHL packs a try. As for the motor, The Trinity Holeshot 2.5T is popular in my little corner of the U.S. and the MacLan DRK ESC is also quite popular for its no-prep features. I'm quite surprised that an RS Pro is handling all that power but then again, I do loves me some Tekin for a reason :)
