Hey... I couldn't get much info in the other thread, but I'm looking for the BEST engine i can get for around $150. I mean BETTER than a CV-R (had 1, wasn't powerful or fast enough for me). I want the Wasp .12 Roar Engine but i havent seen a wasp run before so i don't know about them. The OS .12 TR (P)-T 5 Port i heard is good. and the Fantom FR12 i heard was good (saw it at the track, VERY fast, dont know the $ tho) I need the engine to be race legal and under, over $150. (or cheaper if there is a good engine for cheaper). Thanks.

if you looking for a .12 then the two you suggested are great... as for just wanting fast I have an 0.s. .18 cv-rx in my gt and its soo fast its almost not fun. its a handful thats for sure.

OS .12 CV-R will provide a lot of grunt, it will also take a beating. OS Designed the engine to be raced, and raced hard. You are lookin at spending around 120 bones on this mill. Bolt it in, have fun. Do you have a slide carb setup or just plain old rotary?

Dont go to tower, go to omnimodels. This is what you want if you need short shaft and rotary carb: http://www2.omnimodels.com/cgi-bin/woi0001p?&I=OSMG2050&P=O Free shipping since the order is over $100. I'd go for it... SAME EXACT products as Tower Hobbies, same street (pretty damned close).

I raced with the cv-r.
Had plenty of rip for me.

CV-r has lots of low end torque which is good for a track.
If you were bashing i'd make other suggestions but your not.

The os cv-r is my advise.

Yeah.. I liked the .15 CV-R, but i never LOVED it... I think i might get a .12 TR cuz they have good low end and high end instead of just middle.

Good luck with the TR, because OS isn't continuing the sales of them to a lot of shops. Plus, the ones that are out now are "outlaw" TR engines... illegal in a "roar" race. I am not saying "good luck'' to be an ass, I am just saying its getting harder to find them. parts support may be hard also.

The tr is for onroad applications. The tr 'P' is the turbo version made for on and off road.

Lemme know if you can manage to find that engine in stock online. The 4 main sites I go to have them all discontinued, the TR engines.

yeah.. they have them on ebay... thats where i'd get mine. I'm actually leaning towards getting a Fantom .12. I can't find anyone that sells them tho...

Stormerhobbies rules!!!! Does the FR12 come in a rear exhaust??? or am i gonna have to get a new manifold? :(

New side exhaust porting technology is keeping side exhaust engines alive. You will probably need a new manifold... or wait to find out if Fantom will release a rear exhaust. They should, it'd make sense to!
