Is eBay the best place to look for nitro trucks? I want a Supermaxx (or T-Maxx) or a Savage.
Thanks,
TIM

well it can be and it can't be, it could be a good deal but you never know the condition the car or mainly the engine is in

u have to watch out for what ur buying. sometimes u may find a good deal but really ur just buying someone elses problem. luckily with the 4 nitro R/C's i have bought off eBay, all of them I havent had any problems with. I have also bought many aftermarket parts off eBay too and havent gotten taken. just watch the sellers feedback and u should be ok.. and if there is something more u want to know about the truck, just send the seller a e-mail.

I bought a co-worker a Nitro RS4 3 SS kit from e-bay for $185 with shipping brand new! It was even in the sealed box. I have also seen alot of good deals and bad deals. :) I personally not bought any vehicles, but I have bought parts and have had alot of good luck from that. I have also noticed Tower Hobbies is not neccesarily less expensive then my LHS.

Thanks for the replies.
My LHS is about $100 higher on both the Savage 25 and T-Maxx RTR's compared to sales on eBay.

Dude check a seller by the name of hobbieguyrc and rcoboyz they are both very good sellers and have very good prices. You will get good deals from them and will not have to worry about what you will get.

DONT GET FROM HOBBIEGUY RC!! He took me for $50! I tracked the payment to his place, emailed him the proof and he still didnt care. I also sent him the copy of the money order with HIS signature on it, and he told me to "Piss off". So Id suggest staying away from that jerkoff.

I also bought my Maxx on Ebay. When I was looking I made sure that the truck I bought was still stock. Because then its less likely that they beat it as much. At least thats what Id think. Just like buying a 1:1. I would never buy anything modded that a young kid drove. They mod for more speed, and more power, and thats usually what people do to beat a vehicle. Anyway just my 2 cents. but Id REALLY STAY AWAY from RCHOBBIEGUY, hes a loser!

:D

Thanks for the plug, Zandor.

As for 4u2nv's ideas on upgrades and modifications, that might play with young kids. BUT, those of us that modify our rides so that they can take a beating and still look and run like new...well we know better.

My T-Maxx is built for abuse. If it can handle the abuse it has been through and still run like new, then it will handle anything less than abuse with a grin and ask for more.

The truck I am selling is a modified T-Maxx with room to grow in the engine department. I fragged my upgraded engine and dropped the stocker back in for the RTR ticket. Drop a upgraded mill in it and have a blast.

least i could do sky. still want to buy but my wife is checking our acct. every day know.. lol she is not happy with me:depress: so iam on the:constipat

Yeah I'd buy sky's maxx if I could. I know I'd buy something heavily modded as to rather than buy all the aftermarket hop ups.

If you buy from someone in this forum or big on the sport I wouldnt have a problem with buying from and I dont at all, because I can talk to you or other people that know you and stuff. But on Ebay its kinda different. A perosn doesn't know how educated they are, and how they run there rc's. People in here are more technical and seem to knowalot about the Rc's. (And thats why I'm here, to learn from the masters! ) But to trust a complete stranger and to have to value there word is hard to do. Like if you had too, would u rather buy a medicine from a guy on the net who says it works and does this and that or just get it from a dr.?? Thats how I looked at it at least.
Your truck is Kick ass by the way. I would buy it but just dont have the extra dough.

Every pruchase experience I've had here at RCNT has been positive.

I would much rather buy a hopped up nitro from one of these guys, than even a NIB retail rig from the local hobby shop. With these, most of the problem areas have already been fixed.

Also like SkyMaxx's rig HERE

Heck he's got near $2000 invested and he's letting it go for $400. You may find that on Ebay, but not with the peace of mind that comes with knowing the sellers reputation.

Thanks for all the love guys.

4u2nv, that analogy works a little better with me. I still think that one has to at some point put trust in the seller. That does not mean you can't research the heck out of the seller to find out if they are reputable. So, I think we are in agreement.

Take it from someone who has seen SkyMaxx' Maxx up close. I should have stroked a check right then and there. I think there should be a screening process for the potential buyer. Wouldn't want this thing to get into the wrong hands. Really, it's clean and well worth the asking price. As far as Ebay goes..........crack ain't got nothing on it. Man, I can't stop !! Got some 7075-T6 Torque rods coming.
