some of you out there are having trouble with your stock 3.3 conrod.. I've been using the davis diesel conrod in my 3.3 and it is holding up great! i now have 2 gallons through and it is still looks like when i first opened it.

here is a picture comparing the 2 rods. the rod on the left is the stock 3.3 rod. and the rod on the right is the davis diesel rod. as you can see there are brass bushing at both ends which prevent the holes from getting that egg shape. also the davis rod has more alloy in the center which also make it stronger and prevent is from spliting. the stock 3.3 rod is originally made for the trx 2.5 so it isnt capable of handling the power of ther 3.3 which causes it to split.

yea but for something that small, that is a lot of added weight. did you notice nay rev lag or a lower top rpm with this con rod? that seems to be a lot more weight to sling around in there.

its made of light weight alloy. it feels lighter than the stock conrod.

Your not kidding thats a lot of weight a little mill work and it would be good to go.:D

Do you still have as much power maxxcrasher . Just installed and broke in a brand new 3.3 and was considering beefing up then con before it gets chance to break Seems that it has happened to me twice before .

How much does the davis diesel conrod cost? and where could one purchase from ?

Just split a conrod on one of my 3.3's over the weekend and the piston/sleeve r still good, just need to replace my conrod...

Very curious!

They're about $50. I know you can find them on towerhobbies, probably available at most other hobby retailers, also.

$40

If you think about it though, the con-rod doesn't move that far, so the extra weight doesn't cause as much of an issue is it would if it was a flywheel or something. Although, they could have knife edged it a bit to keep turbulence down to a minimum inside the crank case.

i didnt notice a power difference.. my 3.3 is still just as powerful as before.. i like knowing that my conrodisnt goingto split anymore! one less thing i have to worry about breaking :D
