Despite Losi using rubber o-rings for the outdrives on their diffs, I think that bearings should be put in instead. I measured out the dimensions to 5x8.55x2mm. Anybody know where I can find set of bearings like that? BOCA Bearings has 5 x 8 x 2.5, but I think that will allow too much play in the diff case, and I think the depth is too much, and they want $50 for a set of four.

What o-ring are you talking about? This is the parts explosion for the trans from the speed-nt:

To me, it looks like the out drives do have bearings. Part # A6908.

The bearings are for the trans case. If you look at the little round donut between the diff and the outdrive (The part with no part number) that's the o-ring.

Those o-rings aren't intended for support. Only to seal the case so you can run oil inside. The shaft should fit snug (no slop) in the diff case itself. That's the way most (if not all) RC diffs are. The only thing that makes losi's different is they have the seals on the inside and outside of the diff cup vs just the inside.
