I run them on my revo and my savage. I have the x-75's on the savage and normal 5 hole on the revo. They seem to hold up pretty good as long as you buy rage rings. A lot of tires require the use of rage rings instead of standard rings because they have a thin bead. Imex and pro-line are the top 2 that are recommended to use the rage rings with.

Rock rings don't really do anything to help keep the tire on. In the 1:1 world, they help keeping the rims from getting hung up on boulders. For RC, they just look like a good place for a lot of mud to get and throw a tire off balance.

Unless you meant to say "rage" rings instead... then the answer is yes. My imex tires held up without them ok until the snow went away and I was actually getting grip. Then they lasted about 1/2 tank and I popped 2 completely off the truck. It didn't hurt them though, but it ended my day.

I bought some hot bodies tires off of someone for my savage and they had a thicker bead, so they looked like they would be ok, but within minutes, I had two come off as well. Then when I tried to install a set of rage rings, they won't fit... without a LOT of persuasion. Even then, I think they are going to wobble because they wouldn't seat evenly... but it's a savage. Who cares? It shouldn't wobble that bad anyway.

With two sets of tires coming off and now you say they are hard to get on and won't seat evenly...and even wobble? That does not sound quite like a ringing endorsement. Are they or are they not worth the money?

I believe he's saying that, without the rage rings, they will come off, so if you are getting the Beadlocks, get the rage rings as well.

'Course, I could be way off.

Like I said though, it depends on the tires.

With my Imex tires and rage rings, easy to put together and tough as nails. I haven't had a problem in over a gallon of serious beatings with my revo since I installed the rage rings. No wobble/un-evenness.

It's the Hot bodies (off brand) tires I bought for $10 off a forum that don't work well with them. They have a bead that's thinner than some, but thicker than imex... so they are kind of the "bastard child" tires... I forced them to fit.

I'll probably end up buying a new set of imex's for the savage when I get the $ because they seem to work really well with those.

They come with standard rings. The standard rings work with fat bead tires. The rage rings work with Losi, Pro-line, imex tires.

Although, I don't know what's more "standard" than pro-line...

Gotcha...and thanks for the clarification...I was starting to get the impression that they were not such a good idea. With this explanation, their quality takes on a new light.
