Anyone else notice that their big blocks tend to be easier to tune when it's cooler out? I vaguelly remember my little os 15 cv-r on my xxx-nt 4 years ago being a real pain to tune when it was around freezing out. Then last year, I remember bashing around in my savage with a sock on the head and it would hold a tune pretty decently.
I've been having issues keeping my revo at a decent tune consistantly over an hours time worth of bashing. First it's too hot and shutting down (head temps around 270), then it's too cold and blubbery (temps around 170). No matter how "fine" a tune that I make, I can't get a sweet spot... So, I kind of cleaned it and shelved it.
Then I took the savage out today, it was about 32F. I put a sock over the OS 21 RG's head, fired it up (haven't run it since october) and it ran like a dream for over an hour today... Gave me a chance to see what a set of wide rims and 8 buggy shocks can do.... well, it can do about 12 feet of air all day long and just grin at you as it comes back. Although, I found it's a bit bouncy. I think the OFNA 9.5 stock springs are a bit stiff. I don't know jack about buggy springs...
I'm pretty sure the shocks came with these: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCWV1&P=7
But, at tower, their isn't a "medium/soft/hard" notation on them.
I did find these though that do: SOFT, Medium, Hard
The only crappy thing is that I need to buy 4 sets (about $80 worth) of any of them due to running 8 rear 9.5 shocks on the savage... anyone have any suggestions as to what the black ones I have are and something that may be softer? Also... that might be sold as rear springs seperately?
Thanks.
