The 4 AA holder doesn't put out enough voltage with rechargeable (4.8v versus the 6v required by most cars/ receivers). Like @olds97_lss said, the hump-style receiver (RX) pack is what you need.

Usually a rechargeable hump pack will fit in the spot for those.

little bit of a side note but still related, @olds97_lss , do you have good luck with Tenergy batteries? I've typically stuck with Venom batteries over the years but have noticed some Tenergy batteries had been cheaper, but went with Venom as i recognized the brand more, and have had good luck with them in the past.

I've bought quite a few Tenergy receiver packs and they typically last a couple years. I don't run nitro nearly as much, so they sit dormant most of the time now. But when I was more active, I ran them and they still lasted a couple years. The last 4 I bought, 1 was tenergy and 2 were venom and one was dynamite. I'm not too picky. ;)

I use a 2 cell lipo pack the same size as that 4 cell holder I also use a Ubec 20 amp. that does the job ..
