After running my new slash 4wd and pulling the battery pack I've noticed it is quite warm. Is this normal?

Stock battery? Yeah, they will get warm.

Lipo packs or nicad-nimhs? I've never noticed heat off my lipo packs but that may be because I'm crawling and dont use any real "speed" at all

Stock battery and a little better than stock battery. I'm running it WFO alot too.

No Lipo's yet. ;) planning on making that jump soon.

For any NiMH pack (like the stock ones) will get a bit warm while running. If you can't keep your hand on them for more than a couple of seconds, then you have problems. A good practice is to let the packs cool before charging or running them.

NiMh will definitely get warm, especially if your running WTO! Did the same thing on my emaxx. Now I have since upgraded to lipos, no heat + lots of power!
