I have a 6 cell 1500mah battery. At what amp should I set the charger to charge the battery? I have a peak charger and don't know what to set it at.

I set my chargers to recharge my cells(packs)in one hour.

6 cell pack,1500mah. 1.5AMPS for 60 minutes,if its a peak charger it will stop when full capacity is detected(peak).

Well I'm really hoping you are talking about a NiCd or NiMh battery. If its any type of LiPo you should really make sure your charger is made for LiPo and read your manual. You could burn yup your packs using an incorrect methode.

If they are NiCd or NiMh, they can be charged at up to 4Amps. I usually do mine at 3A for a fast charge or Mah/10 for a trickle charge (overnight) So for your 1500Mah I would use a 150milliamps for 15 hours. (Takes approximatly 150Mah to charge a battery to 100Mah Capacity).

Well, it is a 6 cell bettery, 6 cells for a lipo would be 22.2 volts, so I'm guessing its a stick pack.

I charged it at 1.5 amps and it took over an hour. I'll try 3 amps next time.

Should be around an hour if discharged.I always keep an eye as some peak chargers will detect a false peak and terminate too soon and one I've had was overcharging the packs.

this info is great, charging it slow like that at a low amp will prolong the life of the battery and give more runtime. in electric racing we charge our packs at usually 4 to 5 amps. now if running stock you can charge it at a higher amp however that hurts runtime but increases your voltage or initial punch you have during first part of race.
