I just got a brand new Venom 8.4V 5000 maH battery, and it's ran fine. I charged it this morning, went out to run it, works perfectly, so I took a break, and I switched the VXL to "race mode" where you lose reverse, just to see what it was like. I then went to change it back to the "sport mode" and it didn't happen. As soon as I touch the trigger, or try to turn, it powers off. Then, when I used my other battery (Venom 7.2V 3000 maH) It works fine... I hooked my 8.4V up to my charger, and it says there's 0 capacity to put in it? I have no idea, and I'd like to have this fixed by Saturday for bashing. Thanks

I'm not sure honestly. I just used the battery that was working, and reset it to sport mode and it worked fine. It just wouldn't let me program it with the 8.4V battery at that time for some reason. It had me scared :P

Vxl-3 esc

I recently purchased a Stampede VXL and shortly after I switched to a 4000mah 3s20c lipo and tried to switch to training mode (50%) full power is rediculous, the esc won't power up properly or run at all. ordered a sidewinder today and gonna replace the vxl-3 any comments or expieriences

And my XL-5 just did it too! lol. I always hold them too long on accident :(

Yeah thats why I like old school esc's like Lrp you can actually use a switch to turn them off

It sounds like the Traxxas ESCs don't like to have any more than 7.2 volt packs to reprogram them.

I think your on to something, hamz. Now that you mention it, we couldn't get my buddies mini revo to reset on 14.4 volts. We ended up trying it with only 1 pack hooked up and it worked fine. Something to keep in mind, for sure.

VXL system or MAMBA MAX wich is worse?

Lets see...I purchase a stampede vxl, run five battery charges and try to change set up to training and the vxl-3 locks up, Traxxas is giving the run around on fixing of course i wont get that taken care of for ages so I research and call castle creations to talk to thier tech people I answer all of thier questions and try to cover all angles before deciding on what to buy, I get a mamba max and can't get the castle link to work so I AGAIN (4th call)
call them and am informed that the castle link does not work with a 64 bit , this little bit of info should be clearly printed advertised or something done to let people know.what more could I have done when I read everything on line and talked to thier own tech people who seem to have forgotten that point untill I have purchased it and to bad so sad. I have not been involved with this hobby for very long but so far have found everything to be junk or mis represented. wonder whats wrong with the economy? I think business ethics are part of it.

The Castle does work with Vista 64-bit. That's all I am currently running and I have absolutely no problems programming either my Mamba 25 or my Mamba Micro Pro. I am running V3.12 of their software.

VXL on 64-bit

I have tried and tried and the tech at castle is the one who told me it wouldn't work you are one lucky fella then. and the vxl-3 is on the way or already at Traxxas so should hear something soon I have to say I really like my mamba even if I can't use the LINK. sorry I didn't get back sooner but Overtime can't be passed up!
