hey guys my emaxx brushless came with 2 3000mAh 7 cell traxxas power cell batteries and they're great. i am looking for another set, I've been looking at duratrax batteries 7cell 5000mAh they're 45$ each so i wanna make sure that ill be satisfyed whith them, I'm somewhat new to batteries:\, is there any other batteries you guy would suggest? thanks

Is the esc lipo capable? If so, GO LIPO!

I would 100% agree to go lipo. You havent driven a rig, till you put a few cells on it. It will open it up and practically double your speed and accel.

+1. Lipo's where it's at. Check out hobbyking.com for all your lipo needs. But if you do go with nimh, check out cheapbatteries.com or allbattery.com. Don't rob yourself by buying packs through tower or at a lhs.

haha thats exactly the responses i thought id get haha, I'm gonna do lipos soon i just dont have the money now, just lookin for another set of batts

you can get lipo's for almost as cheap as nimh packs these days. Some people bitch about venom lipos, but I've been running them for a long time now and never had any problems with them. I got my 5400mah venom 2s fro like $45 from the LHS.

Glad nothing really bad happened to your house with the LiPo meltdown. Sounds like I need to pick up an ammo can for mine. At least there haven't been many accidents that I've heard of on here. This is only the second. That's pretty good odds.

yeah i read about that man, wow i thought that all the battery companies were just pullin our legs about the whole spontaneous combustion thing. and back to my original question does duratrax make good batteries?

I wouldn't use them myself, but I'm sort of picky about my batteries.

I've had good luck with duratrax batteries. But I never would've paid $50 for a 4200mah 6 cell at the lhs if I would have known that you can damn near get 2 4600mah Tenergy's for the same price.
