ball diff problems, please help!!!!

I just got done rebuilding the ball diff on my nitro evader but it feels very gritty, like it's loaded with dirt! Everything is new but the gear, but it is in perfect shape yet, the holes are not oblonged or anything! Any help on this dellema would be greatly appreciated. By the way, I l9ove this site, I have learned a great deal by reading these forums. TIA

You replaced the balls in the main diff gear? I know when I had my xxx-nt, the balls that went between the compression plates and diff gear itself got out of round. After a complete cleaning and replacement of thrust bearing, diff ring washers and diff gear, it still felt horrible. Then I replaced them with losi's hardened diff balls. Then it was smooth as butter again.

i have had 2 of these and it seems liek it is near impossible to get that gritty feeling out of them ,the last time i rebuilt mine i went all out and bought all aluminum gears and titanium balls for both the diff and the thrust bearing .
you will have about 50 or 60 dollars in it when done but it will be bullet proof ,
before you rebuild it ,polish the inner hub where the 12 balls go in to gear ,i used a hobby knife and lightly removed the small burrs from around the inside of the holes then used my dremel with a polishing wheels on it to do the gears ,and polish the 12 balls also .
if you can find it at your autoparts store buy simi-chrome polish works excellent
then just rebuild like normal and remeber to readjust the diff after 2 or 3 tanks and take it easy for those tanks also
kinda like breaking in a motor type deal
