I have a nice 1/5 scale gas (gas and oil mixture) powered RC baja buggy. It has a 36cc engine with a tuned exhaust pipe. It's fun and fast but it's extremely loud. And I can't drive it around anywhere nearby due to noise complaints. I was expecting it to maybe be as loud as a lawnmower or something similar. Not as loud as a lawnmower with a poorly made muffler. Any suggestions on how I can quiet it? I don't mind doing a bit of work on the car if it will quiet it somewhat. And I don't use electric RC cars because I enjoy the car's large scale and its powerful engine.

You can use a stock canister muffler or get a tune pipe with silencer.

When I had my HPI Baja 5b SS, I never ran the optional "tuned" pipe that came with it. I just replaced the small can with the 5T can which was larger. It was a bit louder, than the small can, but it performed better. I couldn't stand the loud tuned pipe sound myself, so I never even tried it.

You can also try one of these to quiet it down:

Alright, thanks. Whatever quiets it down the most is what I'm looking for
