Like a glove! Nice!!!👍
Thanks!

The bed portion will have a similar filler, and it will have similar magnet pockets in it with a U -shaped boss for the cabs magnets to rest in. This will locate the body both left and right as well as hold the rear of the cab up. The bed portion will be affixed to the chassis with screws.

Once that is done, I have to design a fuel cell to hide the motor and Rx. It will have a removable lid held on with magnets, to access the Rx. Then she is ready for the roll bars and paint 😁

I really like the magnet idea! That body fits great now! Fitted together like this will def look better than a bunch of body posts and pins! Its a nasty looking crawler already! 😎

I'd be struggling without the 3d printer. It's been a life saver. Design a part, print it and test fit, make changes, reprint, etc. All the parts took at most about an hour to design and 10-30 minutes each to print. That's another reason I love this scale. Parts are tiny, and print super fast.

Watching you (everyone here) printing parts etc is sort of surreal to me!
Making our own R/C parts and taking over the R/C world was a dream for me and more than a couple friends! 🤣
To see it happening is nuts!
If I had to hand build that piece, I am pretty positive that my panel would have taken days and would look and fit half as well if I were lucky! (and I'm not! 🤣)

Moving along at a pretty good pace now that all the mechanical parts are out of the way. Lookin' good!

I really should finish setting up my 3d printer, I mean it's only been two years now. Every time I think I will get it set up, my life turns into chaos. If I can ever get Mrs. Dooms health back to a good spot.

Duh! Throw that printer in the woods! Never set it up and your life will be smooth sailing!!!👍 😉 🤔

3 year bro. You had that printer when I first joined here, and at that time I think you said you had it awhile. It only takes about an hour to get them setup. You had an Ender right? Which one?

They are great, as long as you design your parts to print well. The layer lines need to run a certain direction the keep thin parts from breaking under heavy load. And sometimes that requires splitting the part to print each piece at a different angle, and add screw holes to bolt them back together.

OMG, I think your right, would be nice to get it set up before it's completely obsolete. I have a Creality CR-10 v3
I can't remember where I left off but I think I might be close to just needing to install the software once I unbury it.

You think it's cursed?
It miiiiiggt be! 🤣 Are you SURE it said 3D and not "multi D" printer on the side of the box???
You could have just bought the wrong model!!!

Durability would be a concern for me in some cases, certainly but here you've just printed a good looking, well fitted part. It should hold up unless you crawl off a cliff! 🤣
It looks like a "factory" part. Thats cool to me!😎

That's my baby. My CR10 has pumped out probably 100 rolls of parts. It's so modified it's not even a Creality anymore 🤣

But it prints pretty good even at faster speeds.

So I have a boatload of experience with the CR10. Except yours is a newer model. If I'm not mistaken though, you don't need an Arduino to upgrade the firmware on that one. And it is definitely an improvement to grab the TH3D firmware and throw on there.

When the time comes I will hit you up with some questions. I really do want to get it going, I think of things to make all the time.
I think with your design skills and artistic abilities, youd have a blast with it. I'd be happy to remote into your pc and walk you through everything on there.

I want to print "mute button" necklaces for 30 or so ppl... I think everyone will be wearing them soon! 🤣

I am sitting here thinking of the next 3d model for the bed, and the completed vision of this thing done is driving me through my pain. But it really ticks me off that I can't seem to get the wheels I want for it. And now I'm too broke to buy them if I did find them 🤪

Taking about an hour longer break, then I'm gonna try to get back on this. I want the bodywork mounted by tomorrow dambit.

OK... ideas for paint. Lets see/hear some ideas guys! 🙏

Blue and white or white and blue Shelby stripes (either is classic and classy) for a cool race truck look!
I've tried to upload a pic about 7 times and my browser keeps crashing... 😐

I am actually thinking about that. But the color scheme is red, black, and white. Can't change that for reasons to be revealed later.

I do love me some Cobra stripage though, and that is already at the top of my list. But, with a special twist.

It’s looking KILLER man! The conviction, and attention to detail is unmatched! I know it’s gonna be flawless when completed, but all the work along the way is what’s most impressive to me this far.. 🤩🤘
Thanks man. I might be done for a couple days. Maybe longer. I can barely walk right now. And I promised Breydon the Rey would be done when he came back. So I gotta leave a couple days before next Friday to tackle that.

But anyway, I did the red base and black trim. Kinda hard to do on my phone. Feels like finger painting with liquid mask 😝
